Then it’s considered to be normal, because of the Atkinson Cycle Engine, Tacomas have similar symptoms referred as the “Taco Tick”. If you saw a Check engine light before and not now, then the update is applied. take a look here, once engine gets to temp it should quiet down. with that said...

I have doubts they actually did such PCM Update. I have had this symptom myself and after said update, since has resolved the issue.

There’s a TSB on that, they’re supposed to preform a software update to the PCM. it’s only affected by cold weather the ICE misfires (can cause check engine light) and runs rough.

It’ll probably need to be flattened out and a plywood inbetween. For now I have it just sitting behind the backseat

Clickling noises on the hybrid is normal; is it consistent or intermittent? if intermittent its normal. Actually, it makes clicking noises while the truck is off too, if you sit in it long enough while its off you'll hear it in the cabin and even outside
