  1. It was fun while it lasted

You're leaving out the rubber band effect not existing with the eCVT, which makes it NOT drive like most CVTs. As I said before, the only thing it has in common is that there are no 'gears' for it to shift through. That patently isn't what you said from the start. Ill quote it below as a...
  2. Another price increase for the maverick

The increased base price for the MY25 Maverick can almost entirely be explained by the fact that the FWD Eco is no longer an option.
  3. It was fun while it lasted

You hit the gas and the vehicle kinda stalls for a second before really 'kicking in'. It is extremely obvious on most traditional CVT vehicles. In effect, this is the only thing that the eCVT has in common with the traditional CVT, as far as I am aware, and that is simply because it does not...
  4. It was fun while it lasted

This perfectly describes how it feels when my Subaru accelerates.
  5. It was fun while it lasted

The Maverick's eCVT is nowhere near the same as a 'traditional' CVT. The only thing they share in common is three letters in the name. Still have no clue why Ford named it that, considering the reputation of CVT transmissions.
  6. 2025 Maverick Scheduling This Week (1/16/25) for Production Weeks 2/24 - 3/24/25

I was more referencing the limited or exhausted availability portion. Pure speculation, but that may indicate there was a supply shortage which resulted in some vehicles being pushed back. (mine was pushed back by 3 weeks)
  7. 2025 Maverick Scheduling This Week (1/16/25) for Production Weeks 2/24 - 3/24/25

Well that explains why my AWD Hybrid XLT order got delayed, I think? Either that, or I'm reading that wrong entirely.
  8. 2025 Ford Maverick with Bronco Sport wheels

Way better than the steelies, imo. Looks good!
  9. Passing on 2025 Hybrid AWD

I have to ask the people that are passing on these MY25 orders: What happens to the order deposit in this case? Does the dealer just keep the deposit?
  10. ICE running will in reverse

    This is highly likely.
  11. It was fun while it lasted

I took a look at the Frontier originally before I ordered the MY25 Mav, and the deciding factors for me were: 1) size. The Frontier would have been a really tight squeeze in my garage, if it would have fit at all. 2) economy. The Maverick destroys the Frontier in fuel economy, even as the...
  12. 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid Fuel Efficiency (Real World MPG) Test by TFL

If my math is right that is close to 60 miles per gallon after converting to freedom units.
  13. TFL Slip Test on 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD

I think the general conclusion we can gather from the 2025 hybrid awd slip test vs the Bronco's slip test is: If you want to go off-road, get a trim designed for it (Tremor). The Maverick AWD Hybrid is not, and was never intended to be an off-road vehicle.
  14. TFL Slip Test on 2025 Maverick Hybrid AWD

It did fine on the 2-wheel roller test, which is honestly what I would expect for an AWD vehicle that is really only intended to provide a little more traction during inclement weather. If the maverick being tested was the tremor package and was intended more for off-road use, then it failing...
  15. My Desert Sand 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid

I have a similar build scheduled in February, but mine will be XLT rather than Lariat.
  16. Probably biased, but I really enjoy Ford.

100%. Crazy that the Ranger is larger than some 3/4 ton pickups from the 80s.
  17. MotorTrend Tacoma test drive: The Last Stick-Shift Pickup

to be fair, most off-roaders don't buy new.
  18. Probably biased, but I really enjoy Ford.

I grew up in a VERY GM-biased family (never understood why, since my dad had a Ford Torino in high school and his brother was a Ford guy but w/e). We never once had a Ford car growing up. I told my parents I ordered a Ford Maverick and there was some drama involved. "Why would you ever do...
  19. 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid Fuel Efficiency (Real World MPG) Test by TFL

If going for pure fuel efficiency on a road trip, sure a diesel is likely to win. If going for fuel efficiency with consideration for price at the pump (diesel is like $0.30 more per gallon where I am), then the comparison between the Maverick and a diesel pickup on a road trip becomes more...
