Sorry, I missed the resting voltage this morning - Damn!
However the initial charge voltage was 14.8 volts (ready/run mode).
After a short trip to town and back today (16 miles each way W/ 30 minute stop), Indicated voltage shown: 14.7V.
After 1 hour rest, Battery tester showed 95% 12.61V...
Pre Update:
Morning voltage after 12-18 hours rest: 12.1 - 12.2V
Resting SOC(battery tester, at battery) after 1 hour rest after a short trip: 50%.
Post Update:
Morning voltage after 12-18 hours rest: 12.3 to 12.4V.
12V battery has already been damaged at 11 months old.
Resting SOC(battery...
No trailer hitch light!
I will start using hitch brake light tomorrow to confirm that the 12V battery voltage stays at 14.1 - 14.8V.
Again, these are all early results/observations, It only being a week of post OTA trailer module update!
I only put 0 to 30ish miles on the truck per day.
I can't thing of a single thing you need to do!
You're in great shape on engine oil changes and that's all you need for now.
I have 5.5K on my 2025 hybrid and I plan to change the PTU and RDU fluids at about 6K miles.
I intend also to top-off the eCVT fluid level at
6K also - due to numerous...
OMG, In one of my earlier posts on this subject I had stated that none of these hacks had changed my 2025 Maverick's 12V running at 15.1 - 15.4V!
Now I remember that I had a "freak" occurance a month or so back.
I happened to notice that my indicated voltage had dropped from 15.1V to 14.8V and...
The only gauge of battery charging and 12V battery condition is my plug-in powerpoint voltage display, which agrees with my multimeter within 0.1V.
Using the plugin voltage display, before the trailer module OTA my running 12V voltage always showed 15.1 - 15.4 volts at the battery (this is the...
Nice work!
Do you use a special 3D print program to design such a thing? Like just enter plug diameter here? etc?
Otherwise, way to complex for me to produce!
I would have to make one out of wood! 🤣
Another question to consider.
Out of the 3 charging "fixes" that are shown (IMO) to correct or ameliorate the charging/12V battery problem, Only plugging in trailer hitch brake light "cures" the problem without ever having to draw any amperage! Hybrids don't necessarily need any pedal braking...
@ footflyer,
As mentioned above check your local junkyards for a low mileage transmission, and also ask them for an estimate for the replacement job! You're going to be selling it anyway!
@ SafetyGuy,
Did you receive the Trailer Module 26C10 (OTA) update yet?
I received the update on my maverick 25Xl hybrid and my charging problem(same as yours), immediately fixed itself! With or without the plug in hitch brake light!
Please remove your hitch brake light and see what happens...
