Oh my. Imagine waiting 13 months and getting that face? Apart from having body colored mirror caps (which I had on my 23 XLT but which are missing on my 24 Lariat), I am so glad I have no incentive to order a 25.
The thing that bothers me is that the Maverick no longer resembles a Ford truck -...

I have two sets, one for summers, one for winters. I would have preferred something simple like Magnum 500's but this bolt pattern reduces the choices..
I had a 2012 Volt (Chev called it an Extended Range Electric Vehicle -EREV, not PHEV) from new and loved the flexibility and all electric range that it provided. It was totally reliable for the 10+ years I owned it and when it could be plugged in, offered about 50 miles of range. I drove it...
A four time Ranger owner, I still have a rust free 2008 Ranger in addition to the 23 Lariat Hybrid that I have had for a few months. The Ranger is crude but very simple. The a/c works, the cruise works and I never feel guilty if it gets a little dirty. It seems to be easily repaired but it...
I had a 23 XLT Hybrid Lux (waited 13 months for it). The day it arrived, I ordered a Lariat Hybrid which had not been available in Canada when I ordered it. The Lariat is a 24 as it took another six months. Thankfully no issues with either, but it is too early to predict the future. My 2008...
Not to rain on your parade, but a Mazda RX8 weighs about 3000 lbs. If you scaled the trailer, car and its load, you were probably far over 4000 lbs. Many large truck stops have scales - might be a good idea to weigh it before doing that again.
The OEM Maverick XLT alloys are even more in Canada. I asked for a quote for a set of four of them, with Ford sensors, wheel centers and Michelin winter tires at my Ford dealer last year.
They quoted me around $6000 Canadian! And I have the paper quote they printed.
That was even more than...
Ford wants you to rate them as completely satisfied. I couldn't do that when I took delivery of my 2019 F150 Lariat because the dealership had put almost 380 kms on my special ordered truck before they gave it to me. The General Manager could not understand my position and even threatened me...
The offset will be an issue as well as finding the bolt pattern. My 90 FWD Cadillac Fleetwood had a wheel that kept losing air and just for fun, I put one of the Magnum 500 wheels from my Ranger on the front. It looked great, but was only a temporary fix while I got the Caddy wheel fixed...
I bought one of those plastic inserts but it didn't fit, so it remains an empty hole. Considering the many other USEFUL design features throughout the truck, I'm not sure what Ford was thinking. I've been able to add all kinds of things to make use of attachment points. Wouldn't have minded...
It works in theory. But high school chemistry and physics classes told me that once the electrons start flowing, the rust that forms can't really be stopped. Using the yearly oiling certainly slows the process to a crawl, but once rust starts, it doesn't stop.
The electronic modules can't work...
I've had four Rangers of various trims levels (base 4 cyl/4spd) to XLT SuperCab. My current Ranger is a pretty basic 2008 SuperCab. For me, what truck held it's value best must be compared to which one I enjoyed the most. And that would be the XLT because it had the nicest interior and all...
The Maverick has no roof drip rails. The water has no where to go but down. Open the door, water comes in. Worse when it is snowing, but the rain is annoying.
I hope they can supply them if they build them. I've had a Prius Prime on order since last November and they don't think it will arrive until early NEXT year.
My first Maverick hybrid took 13 months to arrive (2023 XLT). That delivery took place last September. The day it arrived, I ordered a Lariat Hybrid which was unavailable to order in Canada at that time. It arrived last week. So it took about 18 months to get the model I wanted. On the...
Those 2011 prices seem way too high. I was in the market for one in late 2011 as there were lots of them on dealer lots because Ford kept building 2011's. A base SuperCab was around $12K Canadian. I saw a clean low mile 2011 for sale recently for $17K Canadian which seemed ridiculous.
I would keep the Maverick. I have had four Rangers (and still have one - a rust free 2008) and a 2023 Maverick Hybrid XLT. I'm trading the 2023 (arrived in only 13 months!) in tomorrow for a Lariat Hybrid I ordered last September. I like the Maverick and will keep this one. Some of my...
I have had both spray ins and drop ins. The F150 Lariat got Line-X which was hard on my old knees but a Ford rubber bed mat fixed that. My Rangers have all had hard plastic liners which are as slippery as hell and I ended up with carpet mats (I always use caps instead of other covers).
My...
