I have a problem when the dealer advertises MSRP in those situations. If the licensed sales arm of the manufacturer is going to up charge then the manufacturer needs to own it.
Weird comment… Ford is saying nothing.
People want an update but there is no point sending a communication that says nothing useful. Useless updates are every 45 days are worthless.
My dealer called me this morning... i thought maybe he had some good news, but he just asked if I wanted to switch to an Ecoboost. I wonder if they are not getting hybrids scheduled in this last round and are now trying to get people to switch.
It really annoys me though, if i wanted an...
If Ford were smart about it they would allow the hybrid maverick to accept a Lithium Ion or Ni-mh battery, similar to what toyota does with the Rav-4. Solutions are there if Ford wants to look for them.
Also July is getting a bit late in the MY23 production run to have a material impact. 4ish months of additional production if you include july. Seems like it really will help MY24 production though.
Who says they can sell all they can build? Orders for EB are pretty lackluster compared to hybrid. The market will be pretty saturated with them before too long. I suspect something like this will occur to hybrid order but likely not his much...
it seems pretty clear that ford would rather take the passive aggressive approach and just not build it rather than raising the price to deter people from buying it.
The Maverick has been a nice fantasy for me too but really don't think it is going to happen. but the rav is a nice vehicle and you get awd with it. don't pay over msrp for it though... hope you get scheduled by may though
To be fair,i got vastly different responses from the few dealers i spoke with. One said 12 months and another said 9 months, one laughed. One said they only receive xle premiums which are about 7k more than LE.
So i called the dealer in November that we bought our prius from and he called me in late december with a hybrid rav4 LE meeting our specs, but my wife was dragging her feet on it so we let that one go . He called again last week with another one that we put a deposit on. Will be in first week...
I couldn’t find any for msrp, cheapest i found was 4k over. i liked the space of the sportage though. Wasn’t sure about the 1.6t with standard auto trans. Preferred the toyota 2.5 with ecvt
Ford is screwed. Go get a a rav4 hybrid. I waited 2 months for my rav4 order. Plus you can actually get awd.
I was originally interested in the maverick until it turned out they aren’t actually going to build hybrids.
In theory they have been doing that the last few months since they had low priority codes. I think it is more to give hybrid orders hope that they will be built. Otherwise why even announce that you are only scheduling hybrids? But if i am honest it doesnt make a lot of sense to me.
