Don't "need" a backup camera either but I'll take anything that adds an extra margin of safety. Not a substitute for alert driving but extra "insurance" IMHO.
I thought you were talking about the roll-up covers that roll in top and then sit like a rolled burrito 🌯 at the front of the bed. The canister types are a diiferent animal at typically the most expensive kind.
I seems dumb to 3D print something like a cup holder. Why not just print the tab that inserts into the FITS socket and have a couple of screw holes in it? Then screw or glue that onto whatever you like, a cup holder, waste basket, etc. Think of the FITS tab as an "adapter" that then attaches...
Yup and I ordered an XL because I'm just fine with those things. My '03 Sport Trac also has a rubberized floor, no carpet. Easy to clean. Wish the XL had that too.
Consider how often you will need to drive with the cover up. For me, that maybe 2 percent of the time. Often all I need to do is flip up the rearmost panel of the trifold, put in what I need to and then close it again. The roll-up has to be all or nothing. I don't think you can drive and...
They should've put a different bumper cover on trucks without tow hooks. The "blanks" cry out that something is missing and cheapen the look of the truck.
I suppose one good thing to come out of having to wait for our Mavericks is that guys like you will have already figured out all kinds of modifications and accessories for our trucks and even have purchasable kits for DIY user installation!
My XL is pretty barebones stock as it is, and I backed out the SIBL figuring I can have that done locally. But the CP360 has to be done in factory and seems to be a very good safety option. Combine that in a hybrid with an order date of Oct. 25 and I wonder if I'll be one of those looking at a...
I have to guess Ford would like nothing better than to be operating production lines at Full Tilt, meeting all the orders in a timely fashion and taking orders for still more. Though I don't like it, how can we blame Ford for "bungling" when a chips and parts shortage is outside their control?
I can only guess that Ford, like most corporations with stockholders, doesn't want to admit a weakness. Even though a chip and parts shortage is not of their making, inability to deliver timely orders is a real problem. How would you feel if you read a headline - "Ford Admits 2022 Maverick...
I wouldn't have bought a vehicle if I had so many misgivings beforehand but then I don't have the means to "take a chance" and a financial hit if my fears prove true. "Divorces" are painful and expensive.
I'm not sure the old sales model where you went to the dealer's lot and hopefully found a vehicle you liked wasn't better. At least if they didn't have what you were looking for you weren't riding the on / off / produced / delayed / shipped rollercoaster of this built-to-order model. Or think...
Two challenges Ford will face: 1) Not being able to fulfill orders, keep up with demand, and thus alienating customers, and 2) Continuing to maintain a low price which might make it hard to make any profit with the Maverick. I'm rooting for them but this won't be easy.
It's nice that Ford has realized perhaps bigger isn't always better and not all of us want, need, or can afford a $40k+ F-150. I still think the Maverick could be the "VW Beetle of the '20s" if they can hold the price down and start getting production up to meet demand.
Nice to be able to do this. I have not been able to buy a new vehicle for many years. I have been driving my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac , (bought used in 2007) and have not had a car payment for many years. I have a very basic Maverick XL hybrid ordered and with a $10k down payment and a...
