If there is a "system" in place, it confounds logic. I can sympathize with Ford not having parts to meet demand. What I can't excuse is the piss-poor communication with dealers and buyer such that we are completely left to wonder if our orders are in line and that there is some attempt at...
MY 2003 ST with about 139,000 miles on it is still my daily driver and we've had many great adventures together with no major repairs needed. I surely hope when, (if?), my Maverick XL comes it will be a very welcome update to what is almost 20-year-old technology however. It'll be a hard act...
Hmmm...Since retaining the "last setting" for drive mode, temperature controls and similar thing would require some sort of memory chip and chips are in short supply could it be Ford decided not to include these memory functions as a way to use fewer chips? Just speculating, but we all agree...
I've them a few times on dealers lots...temporarily before the buyer picked 'em up. Even sat in one in the showroom at Corwin. Have not seen a hybrid at all, haven't test driven one, and have never seen one driving "in the wild."
Except it's the honest truth. Without chips and parts, Ford can't build trucks. I must think they don't like it any better than we do. No trucks delivered, no sales, no money coming in. Nobody likes it but it's the painful truth and sometimes the truth hurts. ☹️
Funny, I've not seen a single one "in the wild" in my travels around Meridian. Glad to hear Corwin treated you right. I do know they are marking up cancelled order vehicles $5K. They called me and said they had one. I said thanks for calling me, but no thanks. I will wait for my hybrid XL...
Could be worse. I didn't order until Oct. 25, an XL Hybrid, and wonder if I'll now get 2023 model or anything at all. I think I may have to name my Maverick "Godot" (as in "Waiting for Godot.")
Drop Iconic silver, Carbonized gray, Shadow Black. The world already has more than enough "monochrome" vehicles. Add Forest Green, Kodiak Brown, Desert Sand Tan.
I want to try and bring out more of the greenish tint in the Cactus Gray color and also like the idea of "Going Green" with a Hybrid, so with a little Photoshop work I mocked up a look I think I'd like when/if my CG Maverick XL Hybrid ever gets here. I also am looking at painting the steelies...
I'm leaning toward the Undercover Ultraflex trifold myself. Much like the Backflip MX4 but a bit nicer I think.
