Yes, I have the docs, they did take my license, I made a deposit, and I got the Order Confirmation from Ford. All seems good. But with such a long wait and no further communication from anyone, one begins to fear the worst. I feel like I'm "Waiting for Godot."
I'm beginning to wonder about how much the "Order Confirmation" means. I too got one just hours after I ordered with my local dealer. But now I hear about things like the "WebDO", "RVOP," and all kinds of things I don't understand and that it's possible that even though Ford might have...
Not if they want a hybrid. Ranger is too big, too expensive, and doesn't get great mileage. The Maverick hit the sweet spot for me and right now there is no alternative.
I had a call this week from a local dealer where I'd checked on Mavericks before ordering from a different dealer. He called to say they had just received a hybrid XL and it was available for sale. Upon further inquiry I learned they had tacked on a $5k "Market Adjustment Fee." I had to say...
For sure. I could sell my house right now for almost 3x what I bought it for, but then where would I move? If I ever get my Maverick I'm not selling it.
Anyone know if this has ever happened before in the automotive world? Such heavy demand that the automaker couldn't keep up? Did this ever happen with the Volkswagen Beetle?
How often have you encountered a warranty that really covers the cost of fixing a problem? My experience is there's always some fine print that leaves the owner having to pay the bill. I once owned a Toyota Celica. When it blew a head gasket, the warranty covered the gasket, but not the labor...
"Truckish?" And that's important because...?
I have a Maverick on order because it was the better deal and a hybrid will keep saving me money but if the Santa Cruz were equal in price and came as a hybrid, I'd go for the innovative design. Being "truckish" wasn't a consideration. Heck, the...
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the progressive styling of the SC. The Maverick is ok, but very conservative...just another truck. That said, the price & hybrid option of the Mav swayed me.
I like the advanced styling of the SC and find it much more feature rich. But... I need the most economical option possible. So, the lower price of a basic Maverick XL and the continued savings a hybrid will give won out. Fingers crossed my '03 Ford Explorer Sport Trac keeps running fine...
