Hmm, plugged in my VIN and got an estimate of $38,800. Prices for used upper trims are falling rapidly in my area, you see lots of "price reductions". There is not a doubt in my mind that my truck is worth less than a identical 23 that might get built a few weeks after mine.
Yes it belongs to the dealer, but it was a Special Order for a customer.
Doesn't matter, the dealer can do what they want with their vehicles. Ford can't and won't do anything about it.
I agree, there isn't much a customer can do, dealers can pretty much do what they want with their vehicles. I'll also be going through this soon, although I will walk away if the OTD price and financing are not what I want.
Not necessarily. You should ask for proof from your dealer that it was submitted correctly and approved by Ford. Video is a year old but explains the process.
Meanwhile, there's a thread on here of recent VIN recipients getting bumped up from late October/early November production weeks to the end of September production. Go figure.
Thanks so much. I will send these instructions to my dealer today and follow up with them a day or two later. It's been said many times on here, but you are an invaluable resource for many of us trying to negotiate Ford's ordering process while interacting with a dealership that may or may not...
Thanks, you gave me at least some idea of how it works. I reached out to him via email last week, no response yet. I'm sure he gets hundreds of emails a week with his newfound celebrity.
Any idea of how? I've read here that it is possible to change the color after receiving a VIN and scheduled build date. I asked my dealer and they said Ford does not allow any changes once a VIN has been issued. I'd love to show then how.
1/14/22 Lariat Lux Ecoboost 4K FX4, email from dealer on 9/1 says my build date is 10/31 (subject to change) although I've received nothing official from Ford.
