  1. Hybrid fueling tips

you're never supposed to "top off", that's been the advice for a couple decades. thanks for the warning though, never hurts to remind people, and a car fire would really suck
  2. Uncomfortable Seats / Speakers awful (XL model)

I think I spent maybe $20 on a lumbar support that hangs from the headrest, works fine.
  3. Android Auto and Waze

I have to wonder of Google is sabotaging Waze. I used Waze for a while with android auto, and it just kept glitching. It would say "in 200 feet" then stop talking. This happened a lot. And it would give erratic directions, like when I leave work, I get a series of "turn right, turn right, turn...
  4. 3000 watt Inverter

Pretty sure the hybrid Mac has a 200 amp fuse on the 12v side of the DCDC. Check DIY solar forum, Will Prowse has some very usable portable systems. And search, this has been discussed in this forum.
  5. Tucking dascam power cable behind trim

I saw a video where someone removed the a-pillar trim, but when I ran mine I didn't. To start I removed the black cover behind the rear view mirror, very easy with a trim tool. I was hoping this would stop the rattle coming from this piece, but it made it worse. Confirmed it's here because...
  6. It finally happened

That seems steep. Harbor Freight 100w solar panel is well under half that, you could add a Victron charge controller and still beat that price. I have the parts but at work I'm in a parking garage, so haven't bothered. Good idea though!
  7. It's official. Toyota is swooping in for the kill.

If Toyota made a pickup similar to my 2005 Scion Xb that would be killer. Like a shrunken Hylux. Still like my hybrid Mav though.
  8. I Think The Maverick is The Best Entry Level Vehicle Ever Created

I absolutely loved my 2005 Scion Xb. 30+ mpg for over 14 years, fun to drive, carried a ton, Park anywhere, hated when someone hit me from behind and totaled it. I consider my 2022 Hybrid a worthy successor.
  9. My Mud Flaps Are Despicable! lol

That is amazing! Now if I could just get all the buttons from the Mach V on my 2022 hybrid...
  10. Thoughts on this idea that's been burning a hole in my brain.

This is unfortunately quite common. People have a flat, pull over, and a drunk "follows" them. I saw a YouTube recently about off-road vehicles using a similar type of light. I think they called them chase lights. The dust off-roading can be bad. Texas won't let you use flashing Amber unless...
  11. Steeda investing in R&D for the Ford Maverick market - w/ Steeda Maverick!

Skid plates, rock sliders, front recovery options (could be based on a tow base plate), bumpers, lift kits, stuff to make the truck more useful. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
  12. Racks For Carrying Long Boats

I was thinking it would be a little goosey. When I got my hitch rack I set it up in both configurations. I assume I'll need to tension the sides somewhat. Also, Harbor Freight has a hitch doubler, it has two openings, just stacked tubes. That might let you do trailer and rack. If not Harbor...
  13. Racks For Carrying Long Boats

Is that the hitch mounted one? I have that in the truck but haven't needed it yet. Mine was around $80, pretty reasonable for what it can do.
  14. DIY REMOVABLE FLEX BED KAYAK RACK

I would love to get more details on this. It looks like you're using the DIY unistrut rail solution, but I also see cross braces. And is this suspended on the rails? I would think you would need the legs to extend down to the bed, to an interface that takes the load and protects the bed from...
  15. Paint Protector Strip Installed on Roof - Not A Cab Spoiler

I have the same one, haven't installed it yet. I'm thinking of putting 3-wire lights in it, but was surprised that it's more of a soft rubber than a hard plastic. It should offer some protection for the cab.
  16. Has anyone useed either of these replacement taillights for their Maverick?

I like that set, they have an LCARS look. How bright are they?
  17. Loaded hybrid! 12' long piece lumber ~1200lbs

That hitch extender is getting a workout! Good to see that, I haven't had to use mine yet.
  18. Maxzina Trail Rail System installed

That looks great! I bought some generic Molle panels, haven't decided how to attach things to it. I really like the cheap "plant" Velcro (the green stuff), it's very strong if you wrap a couple of times.
  19. Availability of Ford Bed Divider?

I use the $25 ratcheting Harbor Freight cargo bar, very flexible for placement. I thought about making dividers but this works great, and it's small when not being used. Also works to hook and pull things from the back of the bed. That does look nice though.
  20. Engine icon on hybrid Power Gauge

This is what I use. I also sent my old scangauge II in to get updated, and have HVB SOC displayed. it makes a lot more sense of why the ICE comes on. For instance, sometimes I barely touch the pedal, and it turns on the ICE, but I look down and see 37% SOC. I do wish there was hapic feedback...
