I don't think that's unusual. I have some cheap roof racks, and a tonneau cover. I carry a hitch extender that can be low, to extend the bed, or high, to extend the roof. The hitch extender is real cheap, but you have to have a hitch. I don't think the hitch is very expensive to add on though if...
This has some interesting facets, as I have discovered a safety issue with the rotary shifter. Twice now, while reaching down near my right leg, I have bumped the shifter from D to R. It's quite disconcerting when your car suddenly slows and starts reversing. Not having an interlock is a...
I get that too, it feels like the stock Continentals want to"follow the grade". It never feels unsafe though, just let's me know what the road is doing.
Project Farm tested these, sure enough, high flow but much less filtration. The Wix however were great. I will get a K&N oil filter when I next do a change, excellent filtration there.
I think this is a good idea. I like the thoughtful ergonomics of the XL fan and volume knobs. Customizing the "interface" for your needs is wise.
I've been considering doing the same thing with the drive mode selector button. I did something similar with my keyboard at home. I used a small drill...
They're actually pretty similar. His uninflated pictures shows a gap at the top. Mine shows a gap at the bottom. Inflated they look the same. I did have to check his pics though.
I did use one spacer at the top. I saw another much older thread last night where someone did the same, route up and used one spacer, but I didn't pay attention to which kit they used.
This is on the right track, but a 3kw inverter will draw over 300 amps, and require huge welding cables as leads. A 2kw inverter is about the largest you could use, Victron is great, Renogy acceptable, Giandel just. The Victron can probably handle the surge, the others less so. I picked up a...
These aren't air springs, they're more like spring augmenters. I run with 10# right now, and it's not softer, if anything it's a tiny bit harsher in the back, but not bad. It feels tighter. So you have the same springs/shocks, but if you load down the truck, you can compensate up to a point, and...
Thanks for the compliment, and the suggestion. I have a similar inflator that I purchased at Costco, it's great for airing up a tire that has dropped some. I had it in my car for a while, now in the truck. Disappointingly, I found that it is made for cars, such that I could only set the...
The airlift system isn't so much an air bag that replaces your suspension, it goes inside the rear springs and "tightens" them so they offer more resistance as you add pressure. This thread is a great review, and I just posted this thread on my experience installing it. Seems like exactly what...
You can air the bags up to about 40# then spray soapy water on the connectors to find the leak. Also look for places in the line that got cut by a sharp edge, the tubing is cheap to replace, and you'll know where to protect it. If nothing else you can put copper tubing for most of the run.
I'm...
So I installed the Air Lift 1000 Air Suspension Kit 60811 <edit, it's a 60911, sorry> on my 2022 Hybrid XL, as suggested per this thread. As that OP suggests, this is not the kit that everyone wants you to use, they want you to get the one for a different model of Maverick, the linked thread...
In a Maverick? At 14.6v a 5000w inverter would take 342amps. I have a small window unit that states it's around 500w ac. Do you mean at home, using a 48v battery? Not meaning to be critical, that's a huge inverter for our little trucks.
I can see where it might be useful, but I have a Camry that doesn't have it, and often have to drive company cars, so I don't want to get in to the habit of using it. That's also why I have largely switched to slippery, I love the aggressive deceleration of eco, but when I get in another vehicle...
