Yes, all Maverick Hybrids got skid plate until you remove them. And I am not sure it should be calling it a skid plate because it will not protect underneath the motor from big rocks, logs when it made of plastic, I think. I just got my Hybrid two days ago and I just look now and see that it got a skid plate, and it looks like it made of a cheap plastic but not 100% sure. And the skid plate has to be removed to change the oil filter and to remove the oil plug. I do not know how hard it is to remove. I wish I had...
