I picked up my HPR Hybrid Lariat Lux one week ago. Thus far I am very pleased with the way it drives and of
course the fuel mileage (slightly less than 40 mpg. average) which has included a fair amount of California freeway driving. I was concerned my wife would not like driving it as much as I do so I promised her I would not sell our 2019 Subaru Outback Ltd. until she was sure. She told me yesterday to go ahead and sell the Outback. Fortunately I had seen the car buying service Driveway mentioned on one of the posts I read last week. Their offer ($32,100) beat Shift, Carvana and Carmax by almost $6000. The car is in very good condition and has only 12,000 miles on it but I did not expect to get more than I paid for it 3 years ago. My main reason for transitioning from the Outback Ltd. was I never got used to how it felt at freeway speeds, having been used to driving larger SUV's and trucks. I am so glad I made the change because the Maverick rides so much better.
I am impressed with the driver assistance features, all of which I had on the Outback, except the Lane Centering that comes with the Adaptive Cruise Control. I really like that feature. The audio has been fine, however I have only used music from my phone via Bluetooth and Android auto with a cable. Unfortunately the dongle I ordered several months ago from Carsifi has not been shipped yet, but the Android Auto installed seamlessly with my Samsung Galaxy S21 and a USB C cable. The navigation from Google Maps works well on the screen. Being an Alexa user at home I tried the Ford + Alexa app and it worked fine at first but then became very inconsistent so I decided to just go with Android Auto exclusively.
I have added the glass screen protector from Amazon and the raised tailgate lettering from Etsy NEW Fits 2022 MAVERICK Tailgate Raised Reflective Letters | Etsy I am very happy with both of them. I am awaiting arrival of the Ford black platinum sill protectors and a Gator SFX tonneau cover. When I bought the tonneau cover from RealTruck.com I asked for the Maverick Truck Club discount and they decreased the price form $279. to $237.
The dealer experience (El Cajon Ford) was mixed. Even though I had an appointment it took me over 3 hours because to get out of there, just because they were so busy and they only had one person managing all the order pickups. They did honor my msrp agreement and took off the options that I did not ask for. They said Ford would honor the price protection but I had to pay the "new price" and I would receive a check in the mail, which might take a couple months. They also honored the 0% for 36 months financing that was advertised when I ordered the truck on 7-19-2021. They would not honor the Farm Bureau incentive because they said it wasn't in effect for Mavericks when I ordered mine. The dealership did a nice job of prepping the truck including a nice wax job, however either the tire pressure was off on two of the tires or the on board monitoring system is off. I received my Fordpass credits just 5 days after the purchase.
