My biggest indecision comes from towing capacity. I *probably* won't need more towing cap than the hybrid delivers but...what if I do. That's my worry. Mostly just hauling a 5x10 open trailer with my mowers on it. It is well within the specs of the hybrid so I'll probably go ahead and get the hybrid. I like your idea of using OBD2 software to monitor the trans temp.
