Yeah that's for the auto-highbeam feature. I just went and checked. I still don't see where it's possible to turn on lane-keeping/warning. That would be a huge feature for me on long, overnight road trips.
Another poster here measured the factory clearcoat and saw that it was extremely thin. I had the dealer apply an extra clearcoat. I also plan to do add more clearcoat myself once I figure out what to use and how to do it!
Tonopro has a $500 hard tri-fold that looks nice. Their video on Amazon shows that they include weather stripping to go around the edges of the tailgate to keep water out. That's a cool feature. For only $200 more that looks better than the Tyger soft tri-fold.
My big thing is easy removability and water shedding. So I think I will go with a soft-cover tri-fold (with curved crossbars) that is easy to remove. I had a Tyger soft tri-fold on my Sierra 1500 and it worked perfectly! Something about the way GMC designed that tail gate kept it bone dry in the...
Yeah I was seeing pretty bad reviews for these. I was thinking something that's only a couple inches deep would be plenty to act as both a door handle and a coin/ticket/key drop area. But the part would have to be pretty sturdy and bolt into the handle.
Next time we will pile sleeping bags and pillows into the bed and watch from the bed of the truck. We usually bring a battery powered radio and that works really well. It should be easier to get in and out of since it's lower to the ground. Our Sierra 1500 sat so high off the ground I had to...
Another useful idea is to design a compartment that is held in place with the bolts in the handle of the door. The open air behind the handle is a perfect spot to put a fairly shallow (3 or 4" deep) coin/card/wallet/whatever holder. Would also serve as an extension to the door handle so people...
That’s a hybrid only feature. If/when my 2023 hybrid arrives I’ll be able to use that. For now my EcoBoost shuts down every thirty minutes. I just turn the key to off and back to Accessory mode and everything is good again for another 30 minutes
Oh wow, that's way up northern Indiana. Never been there. Ours is about an hour and 20 minute drive for us but we love this one because of the movie selections and it's well run.
Picked up my Maverick Saturday. FX4/4K AWD. Drove it 190 miles over the weekend to kinda break it in. This morning I reset Trip 2 and drove to work. 17 miles one way, nearly all country backroads 40 to 60 mph. I drive pretty gentle, no rush at 6:30 in the morning. I got 33mpg exactly. I'm very...
I only use touchless car washes so I don't get the swirl marks. If it really needs a bath or has a lot of bugs to clean off I'll hand wash. I don't get too worried about keeping it super new looking. Stuff happens. Cars get old. I don't have the time or energy to obsess over little details. It's...
On another note. We saw our very first maverick in the wild on Friday (the day before picking ours up) when we went to Costco. Then, when we left the drive-in and headed home around midnight, a cyber-orange Maverick passed us on the interstate! My wife thought that was cool. She saw it again...
Yeah it's annoying but certainly not a show stopper. The screen tells you it's shutting down to save battery. There may be a way to disable it, idk yet. Glad this review helps you though!
