It is my understanding that the Camry you drove is the last year of the non hybrid. My son in law just traded in his older Camry for one, not wanting the hybrid. His Camry only had 450 THOUSAND MILES on it, basically trouble free, and the motor untouched. There is something to be said for...
I am not sure that automatic transmissions really qualify as "splash lubrication", but instead use basically a "pressure pump" to get the job done. In the Honda user groups many have suggested that you are better off draining the fluid and replacing it (leaving part in the torque converter) at...
I got the front bug protector and used the rest for Motocraft oil filters. Do be advised though, IT IS A USE IT OR LOSE IT situation - you have a year to spend them or they vanish.
More than just your joking about being a "polluter", it is my understanding that both you and the shop are guilty of federal felonies. Am I correct? Not sure I would post this .
I have not done this, but it sure looks like you could grind off the little nub on the "U" where the rod goes through the hole and then twist the rod and slip it out. I DO agree with the above advice that the gas shocks age, and if you were on the roadside in a tail wind, you might be glad for...
Thanks for posting. Another oil filter option is to use your "free" Ford points if you don't know what to do with them. Beware that those vanish after a year..... so I have a bug shield and a half dozen oil filters. Thanks, Ford!
Unfortunately the Maverick will eat your online minutes, so I got a vintage Garmin. Ebay has them cheap, but get a model with free LIFETIME updates. This will work without the phone.
An option I use on my Maverick and Silverado is to use the tow mode when I am pulling a hill to take advantage of the shift points, but revert to standard when on the flat.
Kingfish, Totally agree. We spend part of the year in an area where power outages are frequent - weekly, so the generator and above allow us to stay connected as well as power a small refrgerator freezer (generator direct) but for most US applications, old gas in a generator is not ideal...
Having lived in a solar powered home for 50 years, here are a couple thoughts. $400-500 will buy a Honda clone "suitcase style" generator that will run for hours on a single gas fill. If needed, a deep cycle battery and charger, plus small inverter will allow you to run low wattage loads like...
A short 2x6 or two on each side decreases the attack angle, and lets me use the common stamped steel ramps. The boards go UNDER the downhill side of the ramp.
Not to nit pick, but my 215/60 R17 is not the "full size" of my OEM tires as implied by the option when I ordered the truck. True, it is a seventeen inch tire, but so are a lot of motorcycle tires. :-)
Since many of us "early buyers" paid extra for a "full sized spare" only to find out that it is not, I am interested in how this plays out for you. I wonder if it will fit in the space provided under the bed if you put an OEM size tore there. Has anyone tried to put their "flat" tire back...
The lumber or ladder rack that you see in the pic of my maverick has removable cross bars that can haul our 11 foot Hobie kayaks. You can often see these racks on Craigslist or Marketplace, and have one shortened to fit your bed. Another option is the single bar rack by the cab, and a pool...
One would turn them off because that power has to come from somewhere, eventually your gas tank. Think of the heat put out by MILLIONS of running lights every day. I like that our Silverado has the option - not sure how to even do it on the mav.
Can't agree with the holding power....I have several of these and like them, but several will barely hold a medium sized crescent wrench. OK for a shop wall, but nothing that I would put on a vehicle due to bouncing.
I have to agree that the civic has to be one of the best rigs on the planet, but my son in law has 450,000 miles on his Camry with the original motor..... hard to argue with that!
Can't go wrong with Toyota, though at twice the money, I hope it is twice the truck! I do agree with you that they don't seem to be as concerned with mpg as you and I are. We had a good run with Mazda pickups a while back....actually went to buy a Tacoma, but the identical Mazda was exactly...
