  1. ~2,700 mile round trip with a home built teardrop trailer!

Thomas, Greetings! Another request that you post updates on the trip. I'm very curious about the mpg with different drive modes. (I am eco, 4x4). I have been following the teardrop groups for a while, and currently have the new frame for a trailer I am building in the driveway. After much...
  2. I have both found out what my rattle was and won dumbass of the year!

A slice of milk carton can help...meanwhile, don't get too rattled about the award. ;-)
  3. Slammed on Silver's Coilovers (23 Hybrid Lariat)

Coilover springs, nuthin! After reading your tale of road mishaps, you should consider a railroad cow catcher, race ready rollover cage, and an armed escort. Getting hit is bad enough, but seeing that first damage to your ride while it is still in the "pride and joy" mode.....heartbreaking!
  4. Cheap $30 Oil Catch Can Finally Installed! Looks perfect!

I DID see them when I originally looked, but don't find them now. My thoughts are that one could cut the tube in the middle and use ribbed connectors to and from the catch can, and if needed, replace that setup with a straight barbed connector, covering it with the slit ribbed protector to hide...
  5. Cheap $30 Oil Catch Can Finally Installed! Looks perfect!

FWIW, the blue plastic on the clamps is a dead give away. I have seen the OEM orange ones listed for under $25, and think I will get one of those as a "swap back" for any time I let Ford peek under the hood.
  6. Maverick DIY Camper Project

VERY Nice!!! I have been considering a similar design that actually sits on the lowered tailgate to allow for a six foot bed on one side.
  7. Tow wiring harness- Do I really need a battery power connection?

As to power supply, I installed the Curt unit and used the in-bed 12v power supply via an inexpensive matching (Amazon) plug. If my memory serves, the Curt is rated for 10 amps, the power supply 15. No codes or problems, though I have not towed with it yet. I found that the Curt "box" mounted...
  8. Cheap $30 Oil Catch Can Finally Installed! Looks perfect!

Two thoughts: I have the same warranty concern, especially after purchasing the extended one. Then too, there is the issue regarding the federal laws about mods to the smog setup. I can't help but think that dual catch cans would have ZERO negative environmental impact. Second, I wonder why...
  9. Vinyl letters! Diy

Looks good... I thought my Plain Jane xlt could use a little bling too. (Chevy 4x4 decal)
  10. Hitch and wiring install from Ford Accessories

The cover plate is not shown here, but the positioning of the hitch with the simple rectangular cut on the right side allows the hitch to clear the full sized spare.
  11. Hitch and wiring install from Ford Accessories

Instead of the factory tow hitch (deselected to avoid constraint items), on my truck with a full sized spare, I had good luck with the H Freight $29 hitch. Cutting the passenger side into the centermost of the two holes on the right side left me with steel the width of the rear bar, and four...
  12. 📝 (12/14/22) – 2023 MAVERICK AVAILABILITY MEMO Allows Order Switch From Hybrid to EcoBoost! + New Discount Package + Current Constraints Info

Unfortunately, I was in contact with my dealer yesterday after he tried to process my change from a hybrid xl 2.5 to a Ecoboost 2.0, and he said that that switch was not allowed, that Ford would be making no more 2.0 Mavericks this year. A group member said this was because motor switches are...
  13. Maverick Scheduling on 12/15/22 -- For Production Weeks Through 2/20/23 [+ Current Constraints List]

Greetings all, at 2:00 PM Pacific time, I was informed by my dealer that they were told that thee will be NO MORE ECOBOOST 2.0 orders built this year. I was trying to change my hybrid order to EB with awd, having read that the hybrids were a 35% proposition. Huh? Dealer says that they tried...
