  1. Why Buy a Maverick?

I’ve never been without a small truck, and the Mav is the only vehicle on the market that is truly a small(ish) truck; it is a foot shorter than the Ranger. The best part was that I was able to stay within my budget and still get the AWD and extras. It will tow my utility trailer well and fits...
  2. What MPG are you getting with the AWD 2.0 Maverick

Broke 10k mikes just before Christmas, with my routine and heavy foot I'm a steady 27.5 MPG without trying - and always with 87 octane. oddly I just decided to try premium fuel for once, and I'm now steady at 28.5 MPG and haven't changed anything, so I may keep using premium for a few tanks to...
  3. Toyota Hilux EV Pickup Truck! Looks cheap, perfect commuter-hauler

Okay, it's ugly, but I'm down for the concept: affordable, single cab, long bed, work truck, with a modest battery range. Personlly I'd be down for a electric VW Rabbit truck if I could buy it for the price of my Mav - small, cheap, two seater, electric commuter with some weekend utility...
  4. Anyone else unimpressed by the build quality? Some examples inside

The only thing that is missing from the XL trim is manual crank windows - some of us were shopping for analog :ROFLMAO:
  5. Anyone else unimpressed by the build quality? Some examples inside

I knew I was buying a $20k truck before I ordered - hence the XL trim. Considering the long and distinguished history of automotive quality from our southern neighbor and the price point of which it was designed for - I believe the quality is actually quite impressive.
  6. Maverick vs Ranger comparison pics

Now go park next to an F250 Super Duty  The eyes play tricks, but the Mav is smaller than the Ranger in all dimensions - same for the Frontier, but I will say the proportions of the Frontier are closer to the Mav than the Ranger. Had Nissan offered a fuel efficient four cylinder with the...
  7. What 'severyone getting for MPG with the ecoboost?

XL ecoboost AWD, 87 octane, usually driving 80 on the interstate half the time, been towing a utility trailer last few weekends, never fuss with the mode, at 8600 miles now - 27.5 mpg no matter what I do
  8. Why do dealers put their decal on a Maverick not even theirs??

I got to my dealer before they could detail it and told the sales guy not to dare but a decal on it, I'll drive it home dusty.
  9. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I'm closing in on 10k with my EB AWD XL, and at this point I don't think I would trade for less performance. Perhaps an EV as a secondary commuter, say a two-door short bed on the Bronco Sport length chassis, wouldn't need crazy range - 200 miles would be more than enough. Of course I'm not...
  10. Maverick XL EcoBoost FWD First Road Trip Review

Great write up - I still feel like the FWD EB is one of the biggest deals out there for sheer utility. Originally I planned on the EB FWD XL with the 4k package, but then Ford removed that combo as an option. Had I been a month earlier on ordering I could have gotten the AWD free!
  11. A Maverick Skeptic's Short Maverick Review

Never owned a Ford product, and I was excited about the Maverick, simply because I have always loved small pickups. Personally I love the simplicity of a truck, and my XL trim does an excellent job keeping things simple. Today I borrowed a utility trailer (designed to hold 3 motorcycles) just to...
  12. Is/will your Maverick be your first truck? Are you new to Ford?

It's my first Ford, but I've never not had a truck in my 28 years of driving.
  13. '22 Snotty Litte Bastard build

The Mav looks pretty damn good dropped, I gotta say - and I'm digging the white rims (y)
  14. How many of you ordered a Maverick without even test driving it?

I was considering ordering one sight unseen, then I managed to drive by the dealership when someone's cactus Lariat has just been dropped off before the place opened. I did a walk around and figured it was enough for me to say yes. if I could do my order over, I would have ordered two months...
  15. So the Maverick Van/Transit Connect is officially dead, right?

I’m a bit disappointed that it appears the third vehicle for Hermosillo, the V758 project sounds like it’s being abandoned. The idea of a Maverick sized cargo van - especially with a high roof - would have been a lot of fun with a lot of potential. Is there any official word from Ford that it’s...
  16. Not seeing Mavericks in the wild... why not? How about your community?

Starting to see them more as of late - maybe a half dozen within a month, have seen at least 20 since I got mine in May. I think there's at least two Santa Cruz's in town, see them infrequently at the grocery store. I have only seen Mavericks in passing, usually on I-5 or 99, but I have yet to...
  17. šŸ“ƒ 2023 Maverick constraints list (as of 9/16/22) - packages, options, parts

Literally best to just order an XLT with the ecoboost and enjoy your cheap truck (y) I have the spray in factory bed liner, and it isn’t anything that an aftermarket couldn’t do better or cheaper - I would skip it.
  18. I just defected to Team Ecoboost!

With the EB, AWD and tow package (and a lead foot) I'm almost alw around 27 mpg, and that's as far from trying as can be.
  19. What’s new: changes for 2023 Maverick

What the heck, NOW they add cruise control? And I was hoping you could get an XL Tremor - oh well, guess I’ll just wait for 2024. Better get this little truck let paid off by then :)
  20. Regrets with your engine choice?

Personally I have an aversion to technology in vehicles, so the ecoboost is just the way to go in my mind. The AWD may have been unnecessary for me, but I went with it for possible resale demand - either way I don’t think you can miss. Heck, I think think an ecoboost FWD with a lower kit and...
