This guy is the son of one of the many very smart people I had the pleasure of working with in my career. He is a genius when it comes to lubrication science. Entertaining to watch too. Here's his take on Thick Vs. Thin.

I was playing with the ap last night and just for grins I tapped the "Lock" button on the phone screen. Then checked the TPMS in the Service section and found this change. But, it didn't change again after that until this morning when I drove it.
That sounds like a lot of fun but, alas, it is the same weekend our little town has a big cruise night on Saturday with an even bigger show on Sunday. I'll so my best to represent us well at those. Heck, I even do videos there!
2024 Dirty Bird Cruise Night
The only time the TPMS will be reasonably accurate with a tire gauge is right after you have driven a few miles and parked. Once the ignition is shut off, the TPMS is no longer able to update. I see that in my FordPass app. Mine has been sitting in the garage 4 days now and the TPMS readings...
Saw a post on Facebook a couple years ago wondering why none of the country artists has come out with a song about a self driving truck leaving its owner. Got to thinking about that and the result is this number penned, produced and performed by all me, my video camera, Bose speaker, iPhone and...
I bought the Lariat because it came with a lot of the conveniences I have grown accustomed to in my 2013 F-150. I also wanted the heated "leather" seats, black interior, auto headlamps and other things that were available as options on the XLT. When I built both on line the price difference...
Retired now but when I sold auto parts, I loved those who ran their tanks like Kramer on a test drive with the car salesman! Sold a lot of fuel pumps to those folks! I always fill mine at or just under a quarter full. Keeps that fuel pump cool and happy!
I masked off my grille bar and painted with Rustoleum Chrome Silver, which never looks like chrome but more like the argent color I was after anyway. Also did hood apron and side stripes in the Maverick Grabber style from 71-76 when it was a car.
If I ever repaint that bar, though, I am going...
I developed this habit when I drove a Schwan truck in the early 80's. Usually also have one eye in the rear view mirror and the other on the road ahead when approaching stale green lights or slowed/stopped traffic. If we're sitting and I'm at the end of the line, my flashers are on unless it's...
My wife keeps telling me I should have ordered white. I have to admit a set of dark blue stripes for the Grabber tribute would have looked great. Nice truck, congratulations!
Am guessing it depends on the dealer but I asked the same question when ordering mine last year. If something happens and I end up unable to buy, what happens? I was required to put a $500 deposit down and they would simply have kept that and sold my order to another customer, and probably for...
Been a habit of mine for years. Have never had to replace an A/C compressor as a result. Keeps the juices flowing and dries the air for better defogging too.
My wife likes the white ones too. Would have made the Grabber graffics stand out better but, alas, I really like my blue 24 Lariat... a lot! It has replaced my 2015 Magnetic Metallic Mustang very well.
I'm in northern Illinois and have lost 3-5 mpg with my Ecoboost in the last couple months as well. Betwen winter headwinds and cold, I've gone from 26-28 down to 22-23.
BTW, on my last trip to Iowa, running into the wind I switched to Tow/Haul mode and picked up 1.5 mpg, even at the 70 mph...
I really like all that stuff too but before I disagree with the "Lowrider" look, let me provide a brief backstory.
I've been a car guy since late grade school when I got a ride in a new 64 Super Sport 409 4 speed. I was hooked. I built a few cars on my beer budget, went drag racing, fixed up...
Ooh, bad idea all around. Over capacity to begin with, over tongue weight, no brakes on the trailer, it's a disasster waiting to happen! Have seen a couple set ups like this in the center median and ditch, the former with a beautifully restored 69 Camaro on the stretcher. The cost of reting...
What I've done since 2013 with my F150 and now Maverick is whenever I know the truck will sit for more that a day or two I plug in a Auto Meter Battery Extender. I use them on any battery on my lawn equipment or vehicles and it has been amazing how much more life I get from the batteries. I...
