  2. Things I wish I knew before I bought my Maverick

This one is a tad more $ but will charge up to 3 amps and continuously maintain as well. I'm also a little partial because I was involved in the early design and production of the first generation of this product. I have several maintaining everything from "Bret the Maverick" to my wife's car...
  3. Can Ford turn the current Maverick into a next gen Ford Flex ?

Could be the replacement for the discontinued Edge. Had the made a 2025, my wife and I would probably have bought one. Hmmm...
  4. DIY Exterior BAP (Black Appearance Package) on FX4

The stripes are painted on, again using Rustoleum, this time semi gloss black rattle cans. Masked it off, carefully as it is a "reversing" process to get the two pinstripes next to the wide middle. Had the stickers made by a local sign company with black letters over a second "shadow light...
  5. Differences between ‘22-‘24 and ‘25 from the rear?

It's from Badgeslide. It's not a fast ship, though, as a lot of their stuff is sent out of China. I have some Turbo badges coming that have been on order for almost a month. If you're patient, no sweat! Badgeslide - Design and Manufacture Car Emblems Badges
  6. What's that noise?

My 24 Ecoboost does that whenever I touch something. I hear a series of relays activating/deactivating. I refer to it as the Ute saying hello or see ya to me!
  7. Installed Lincoln engine cover on 2022 Maverick

LoBeau: They are from the MKC or Corsair 2.0 which is the same engine as the Ecoboost Maverick and Escape. Got mine on Ebay but I think new ones are getting a little scarce! I couldn't find a Ford badged one from and Escape so I "Grabbed" this one. Backin15: There is one bolt that secures the...
  8. Installed Lincoln engine cover on 2022 Maverick

Thank you! I actually used red to match the cover on the positive side of the battery some but more the color I painted the calipers. Also have some Turbo emblems coming for the hood or over the Lariat side badges, whichever floats my boat when I get them.
  9. Installed Lincoln engine cover on 2022 Maverick

Did the same with mine only highlighted the fins in red. I'm leaving the Lincoln emblem on it in tribute to Commander Cody... With a little poetic license, of course... "It's got a Lincoln motor and it's all souped up. That Maverick body makes it look like a pup!" "My pappy said son you're...
  10. First "Heavy" Tow

When I went out to put the trailer away this morning the indication was 20.4 Avg. That would be for an empty trip to the gas station, loaded down, unloaded back, then unloaded down and loaded back. So two trips with empty trailer and two trips heavy. I'll take it. My F150 3.5 EB usually...
  11. First "Heavy" Tow

Might have a video from my dash cams as I entered the grounds yesterday. Put one together last night but there was a problem in the files that wouldn't let me save it. Decided to try again when not so rushed. Stay tuned!
  12. First "Heavy" Tow

Have pulled this trailer, approximately 1800 lbs, with my Cub snow blower tractor a couple of times, but this weekend is the one where I haul a bunch of tables to the fairgrounds for the local ham radio club for their annual "Hamfest" show.exhibitors. Count was down a bit this year so we loaded...
  13. My least favorite thing about my Maverick..

I have laughed to myself about going from the off center front plate on my F150 to the Maverick off center in the rear! I guess I've grown so accustomerd to it that it doesn't bother me anymore...
  14. "BADMAV" Maverick build: she’s come a long way in a year!

Red painted calipers, rotor hubs and outer perimeter was one of the first things I did to mine.
  15. Using Thicker Oils During Hot Weather

Most of these engines never see the oil temp a race built 3.5 like in the GT or your 500 HP example will see. Even when the NASCAR guys went thinner, the used bigger coolers and tighter clearances, but the most they ever had to run was maybe 800 miles between practice, qualifying and the race...
  16. Best truck song ever!

    Here's mine. Classified
  17. Using Thicker Oils During Hot Weather

A well known at the time NASCAR engine builder explained it to me when I questioned why they wanted a lower temp range oil temperature gauge. The were running much tighter clearances with much thinner oil and making a few more horsepower as a result of the lessening in parasitic drag. He...
