I've gotten used to the dial shifter and don't even look at it anymore. Muscle memory has mostly taken over, and of course there's the display on the instrument panel.
When I first saw photos of the 2025 front end and heard the reaction to it, I assumed that multiple vendors would come up with patches like this. Having said that, if I owned one I'm sure I would have gotten used to it—after all, I hardly notice the lovely Formica-like dash insert on my '24 any...
I enjoy the TFL videos and generally find their observations very reasonable, but I was surprised that they were surprised by the mileage results here. The Maverick didn't seem to struggle in the test and got reasonable mileage for the conditions, but it's not the vehicle you'd buy to pull a...
I'm sure you're right. Wouldn't want to (over) think things through.
Personally, I'd prefer not to give my money to the government up front for mileage I might rack up over the next few years, and I don't consider a few hundred dollars added to the cost of a new vehicle or a new set of tires...
So someone who buys a new vehicle every two or three years (as some do) and never has to replace tires would avoid paying federal highway taxes altogether? I guess subsequent owners would end up subsidizing the previous owners' mileage when it came tome to buy new tires Or would the tire tax...
Another way to look at it:
A Maverick Ecoboost driven 10,000 miles a year at the EPA estimated 26 mpg combined would use about 385 gallons and at $.184/gal would pay about $71 federal gas tax.
A Maverick Hybrid driven 10,000 miles a year at the EPA estimated 37 mpg combined would use about...
Based on recent experience with my wife's Escape with much less damage, that looks unrealistically low. Best of luck getting this resolved and your Maverick back on the toad
Thanks. My Maverick is a secondary vehicle and only gets driven once or twice a week. My courtesy lights only work for a day or so after an extended drive. Disabling all communications (leaving fuse 11/12 in place) doesn't seem to make much difference.
Glen, may I ask how frequently you drive your Maverick?
So far I haven't pulled fuse 11/12, but I may try that if the ACCM software update doesn't pan out. Forgive me if I'm skeptical.
I really like my Maverick, but I don't think reliable courtesy lights is an unreasonable expectation.
I typically hand wash my vehicles, so my Mav has never been through a car wash. It's entirely possible that the cover would leak in that scenario, but I'd still be happy with it.
Bought mine at that price from Rough Country last December, and I really like mine too .
I had minor leaking at first, but after the weather warmed up the seals seemed to have conformed better to the track and I see no evidence of leaks after hard rains.
Pete, I hope you like yours as much as...
