Dumb question of the day - What is "EREV"? I'm getting the EV part is Electric Vehicle, but the ER is something new. Article doesn't define the acronym.
Glad you mentioned that - builders seem to love minimalist garages. I got my house built with the 4 foot garage extension option, and it's a good thing. I have a small refrigerator, then about 2 feet to the front bumper of the truck, then at the back, I can barely open the tailgate with the...
I guess it depends on the criteria, the intended use of the truck. Love my Maverick but if I was going to tow a moderately sized camper, it would not be the best choice. If I had to pull 10,000 pounds 3X a week, the maverick is out, the Ranger is out, and even though it'll tow it, the F-150 is...
In general, AI is just a glorified search engine, and is subject to the same erroneous slant and incorrect information that other search engines have, either by accident or on purpose. People look at AI as if it's smarter than any other source, that it's more believable, but it is not. It can...
I'm of a mind that a Ranger or bigger is the better choice. You can carefully plan to go minimal on trailer and cargo but you stand a good chance of butting up against the towing capacity, payload, or GCWR rating rather easily with just some of the stuff that you'll want to carry. Keep the...
And the "integrated control panel" is still despised by many. My friend has a Mazda 3. The trim level she got for her newest one is the same trim level that her previous one had, but they downgraded the audio, took away her Bose system and have a very basic, very crappy factory system with no...
It is a cost thing, no doubt. But a couple of wrongful death lawsuits due to the distraction of trying to navigate the touch screen menus and the cost of buttons and switches will suddenly seem pretty doggone cheap.
Of course, I don't even like the shifter knob - bring back a shift lever with...
I hope they're next. Touch screens are fine for tertiary functions like programming radio stations and selecting someone to verbally text or call. They are a TERRIBLE idea for anything even remotely critical like headlights, wipers, and cruise-control. Anything that distracts the driver from the...
Both are quite quick. Breaking 15 is something, but the hybrid is definitely no slouch. I didn't expect it to be that fast, frankly.
My F-150 with a tune was a bit faster than my 2.0 EB but not that much quicker. Impressive performance form both setups.
Frankly, I'm surprised that they don't...
Ha!
Well, the map is slightly different, and the list of previous destinations is longer, so I can find a friend's address without having to look her up and involve Siri. Also, the screen for messaging (texting) more closely resembles the real screen on the computer.
I'll add that if I had known last year that I would be moving over 500 miles and towing frequently, I'd probably have kept the F-150 a little longer and put the wear and tear on the 7 year old truck instead of a new truck. Not that it's really all that much of a burden for the Mav, but why not...
I've towed probably a dozen times in the last 6-8 months, preparing for and executing a multi-state move. My last tow was the empty trailer though, and I sold it last night. So if I tow again, it'll be a U-haul or a friend's trailer.
The Maverick performed very well when towing BTW, executing...
On the one hand, it is a long wheelbase with less than ideal clearance for anything past moderate off-road driving. On the other hand, the skid plates on the FX4 are metal so they have a little bit of usefulness there.
I think that if you're more serious, the Tremor package is the way to go...
I have those on my 24 FX4. I'm happy with them so far, but I've really only used them on the road. No snow to speak of last winter, except for 1 big snowfall (SE Tennessee) but I've moved back up to Ohio so they'll get a good winter workout this year. I suspect that they're not extremely good in...
That's great mileage, and you did well to endure traffic in both Atlanta (always bad between 6 AM and 8 PM, it seems), and Chattanooga where I-24 and 75 are a crap-shoot at times.
