I bet I'm not the only one that had to look up "overriders". :)
We have a slightly different command of the Queen's language on this side of the pond. :)
There's not a lot of information about the suspension travel and all that - the tremor suspension is quite different, and perhaps allows more suspension travel at the expense of max payload. It also has a more refined 4WD system, more sophisticated. As for lift, I don't think it's much higher...
I had one of those too. A 1978 station wagon with a 2.3L 2 barrel carb, 4 speed stick. Added mag-style wheels and wider tires. It wasn't fast, but it ran forever.
At near minimum wage, I was hard up for ANY transportation!
I have an old school Garmin that plugs into a USB port, or a 12v - USB adapter. Well, it's not THAT old school, but it's kind of basic in that regard. Have not installed it in the Maverick yet, but I had it in my Escape for a year or so. In the case of the maverick, I intend to actually hide...
Mods indeed. Looking at folding tonneau covers already. A little farther down the road, an exhaust (looking at the Magnaflow Street, since it's a little milder) and if things prove reliable, a tune. But one step at a time. I know that 5-star really woke my F-150 up.
And that's really kind of the point. Although you may or may not be able to safely tow a little higher, legally, if something happens, the GCWR is the number they'll probably use to determine if you were within the limit or not.
The only wiggle room is that the number doesn't seem to appear on...
According to what I'm seeing from Ford, it's a number you look up in their towing guide. It would be nice if they put it on the door sticker along with GVWR and GAWR.
I'm looking at this chart, and thinking that the tongue weight is part of the vehicle weight, since it is being carried by the vehicle. I think the math still adds up, but the distribution is a little off, perhaps to simplify.
Example - Maverick 3700
gear 300
people 450
total GVW = 4450...
2 things come to mind - an actual ground fault current leakage due to one of the devices plugged in being "borderline". Or, a bad breaker. I've had breakers go bad, though it is a rarity.
I also had a GFCI outlet fail recently and had to replace it. Sticker shock. Well, not a ton of money, but...
I've been updating a couple of things already. Ordered some Husky floor liners, added a small convex mirror to the drivers side mirror (Yeah, I know, it has the BLIS, but I like to see what's there - also helps when backing to see where the tire is). Removed and stored the back head restraints...
Absolutely - I've been reading the forum for a couple of months, basically since I placed my order in mid-May. Picking up a lot of info, the strengths and weaknesses of the model, what mods are good, which ones are not.
Oh, tires were very highly inflated - 42# in 3 of them, 40 in one, cold. I...
