Oh Wow. Well that should certainly fix all issues. Keep us updated.
I took my Mav on a long distance drive and no issues with power loss or engine light since the damper replacement. I took out an 8 year extended warranty just in case.
You are correct. After I have driven the truck for a few more km, the smell completely went away. And now that I recall I did add more Gas after the first click. So probably over pressurized it. Won't do that again.
I am also getting this gas smell while filling up and after parking in my garage. Just had a clutch damper replacement on the truck so engine and transmission had to be removed and reassembled. Not sure if it had something to do with it but I recall smelling gas other times too.
Got the truck back yesterday with Clutch Damper replaced. So far running as normal. Will repost in a few months to see if fix worked as I don't drive it much in the winter.
You made the right choice. I agree on average extended warranties are a loss. But Mavericks are cheaper vehicles made in Mexico. If you are getting a good deal I think it is worth the extended warranty price. We all know the CV axles are going to go and your warranty will cover it and pay...
You can get the warranty anytime before 60K or 3 years whatever comes first. If you get it in the first year and before 12K you will save $100.
To further extend it after you bought one I am not sure. Better ask granger.
Well they said the transmission clutch had manufacturing grease that had made its way in so they are replacing the clutch plate (damper). Sadly a couple hoses were damaged from disassembly so I have to wait on back ordered hoses before it's put back together. Will continue to update after fix...
I echo what everyone said. I just bought a 8 year warranty from granger ford.
My truck is 1 year old and 10000K. It is currently at a dealer getting a $3000 repair under warranty.
Buy the warranty! I didn't get the light warranty added on because I have never had trouble with lighting before...
OMG that is a horrible situation. Please let us know the findings. Very distressing.
I am curious to know if this was an electronic glitch or if some physical mechanical part of the braking system.
Ok good to know. My dealer and Ford have been good so far as well and they are actively trying to fix things so I am happy thus far. Will report after I get truck back.
Wow that's not good. I hope it all works out. What was wrong with the engine?? Knowing what I know now an extended warranty is essential for these Mexican made vehicles.
