  1. Barely avoided some Maverick on Maverick violence this morning...

If you are going around in circles, you are doing it wrong! 😁 And never in my life have I made a "U" turn. Plenty of n turns, but never a U which logically can only be done while traveling in reverse. Wait... maybe I have done a U-turn.... 🤔
  2. 2.5L Hybrid - Change to 5W-30 oil

Very Cold = below zero °F 0w20 highly recommended Cold = 0°F to 32°F 5w20 is going to be fine.
  3. 2.5L Hybrid - Change to 5W-30 oil

Let's be crystal clear. 5w will be thicker (more viscus, harder to pump) at very cold temperatures, than will 0w. 30 will be thicker (more viscus, harder to pump) at hot temperatures. 0w20 and 5w20 are both 20 weight oils. The only difference is, 0w is easier to pump at very cold...
  4. 2025 Hybrid Gear Ratios & HF45 Transaxle Technical Info

That is the implication, and something I would like to actually measure.
  5. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

During the peak of Covid I never had to go to a gas station. Never got my hands dirty. Never had to inhale gasoline fumes. For 30-40 miles per day, did not create air pollution. Most home solar cannot charge full EV's in a day. But they can recharge 30-40 miles. I could go on and on. But one...
  6. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

It's not always about math. But PHEV is for a subset of the population. Just like a gas only car is.
  7. 2025 Hybrid Gear Ratios & HF45 Transaxle Technical Info

Seems "improbable" that is the only change. The advertised difference is about 15%.
  8. A Maverick is now towing the iconic tram car on the Wildwood Boardwalk

How can I contact them? I sure hope they know to keep it in normal or Eco mode while keeping it at low speeds. It can tow just fine at parking lot speeds in EV mode, and no need for engine braking at 10 mph and under. (Engine brake does not work at very slow speeds.) This a case where...
  9. What are your thoughts on these points against owning a hybrid truck?

Ditto. A whole lot of insurance companies give DISCOUNTS to hybrid owners. It's a proven fact that Hybrid owners, taken as a whole aggregate, are safer, more mature, usually higher average age, more experienced, and less risky drivers. Few hybrid owners are "rolling coal" or testing their boost...
  10. What are your thoughts on these points against owning a hybrid truck?

"As an example, a hybrid Honda Civic comes with a lower premium than its gas version. At the same time, you can save up to 11.8 percent on the Highlander if you buy a hybrid." Usually car insurance premiums are based on value. Hybrids are generally more valuable. They are not more expensive...
  11. A Maverick is now towing the iconic tram car on the Wildwood Boardwalk

Bet ya pink slips it will be fine. Any takers?
  12. Can 4K Towing be added in after production?

No dealership will. But you can DIY for about $400. You can make it safe and legal to pull 4000 lbs and you can make it safe and legal to stop 4000 lbs. What is not reasonably possible is to add AWD yourself so towing more than 2k off pavement with a FWD is not recommended.
  13. 2025 Maverick Hybrid HF55 Transaxle Info (nice write up)

Please see this thread in this section and take the poll. High odds there was mis-printed literature. Low but greater than zero odds there are truck variants out there. Let's investigate. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/2025-hybrid-gear-ratios-hf45-transaxle-technical-info.66656/
  14. Maverick meets Maverick

Not sure if you misspelled Pokemon or Polk-a-thon.
  15. Axle loading (ratio / weights) for hybrid Maverick?

FWD Hybrid 2300 Front 1400 Rear so... 62% Front and 38% rear.
  16. What are your thoughts on these points against owning a hybrid truck?

And there's this: And this Window sticker WAY off. Waaaaay too LOW. I only go fewer than 700 miles per puny little tank while towing. Got over 800 miles per tank twice. 7 cents per mile at $4 a gallon. 5 cents per mile at $3. Maintenance in first 3 years: $70. And that includes a new...
  17. What are your thoughts on these points against owning a hybrid truck?

My homeowners does not care. No rate changes at all. Hybrid EV Hydrogen. They don't care. Same rates.
  18. I believe I found a way to get fresh air from the vents
