I suppose this makes sense in retrospect, since the gear size on the Generator and Traction Motor are the same; experimentally, the fixed gear ratio between engine and Traction Motor worked out to be the same. Now, to get the generator to stand still is a little tricky. But it occurs most often...
Generator to Engine Fixed Gear Ratio
To rev the engine standing still, truck had to be in PARK. My limiter was set to about 2050 RPM. Idle is 1250 RPM. Traction motor is standing still so is out of the equation.
If would be nice if someone who owns a 2025 Hybrid and a scan tool could record these numbers also. This way we can see what has changed.
IF YOU OWN A 2025 PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE POLL.
When engine is off, and you drive in "EV Mode" the Traction Motor does all the work, but the Generator...
True story.
I was in Alaska not too long ago.
Auroras were hoped for but not expected. (You can get about 2-3 days notice sometimes following space weather.com)
Got dark at 10pm.
I sat outside until 11:30pm. Nice starfields but no color.
Went to bed.
Next morning about 8am (full daylight) the...
Well you are doing things the exact opposite to save gas. As long as you know that and are OK with it, fine.
That route should yield about 55 MPG.
You want the engine off as much as possible. Not on as much as possible.
Wait.... did I just get Punk'd????
So when I watched the Salt Lake City Dude's 0-60 test; I looked at the G meter.
It looked to me like from the stair steps in G force the Hybrid was fake shifting. But; without being there, could have been a bumpy road too.
Not a scientific test. 🤷🏻♂️
Look,
Did you watch the video? I did without sound though.
It's not a standardized MOTORTREND or substitute your favorite ASTM test. No one is saying that.
But if both trucks were in the same non-ideal conditions it is still a valid comparison.
BTW there are dozens of albeit amateur...
Weight is not "visible" without instrumentation.
You can surmise truck A is heavier than truck B by looking at them. But you can't tell me what either truck actually weighs by looking at them.
You can't tell me exactly what a linebacker weighs, or a ballet dancer.
You are trying to say the...
Above video is one guy's test.
At Salt Lake City Elevation 4265'
I've said from the start of production they were priced the same because they are remarkably similar vehicles for daily utility.

2022 FWD Hybrid has been field tested at 7.2s 0-60.
And battery state of charge and temperature matters A LOT. So explains some discrepancies.
7.2 is the best I've ever seen in a video.
Heated seats take almost no power.
Trivial. The truck won't even notice.
Use heated seats to your heart ( & back's) content.
Air Conditioner takes quite a bit of power / energy. Vents heater, even more.
Average breakdown:
Heated seats (each) 15 to 45 watts.
Air conditioner 1,000 to 3,000...
