The longer it goes on the more likely there will be an impact. Seems like Ford wants to put this behind them a soon as possible. The UAW will get more money. However, restoring a pension system and a 32-hour work week seems like something that won't happen.
Awesome look and illustrations on the tread differences! Did you trade in the factory wheels for a credit? Congrats on the new rig!
The CrossContact LX25 we got came in at 12/32 tread, but that was sooooo much better than the factory tires. :)
In addition, Hyundai may offer a plug-in hybrid on the Santa Cruz, Honda may offer a hybrid on the Ridgeline, Dodge Rampage may be coming to the states. I too believe in a couple of years there will be serious competition in the compact truck market and folks will have options.
Thank You.
I just seen enough complaints on the factory tires that I personally did not want to take the risk of having a problem with traction. I personally cannot compare the original set of tires. But if you look at the reviews on Continential site between the two tires( Continental...
You should reach out to @Discount Tire on this forum to get a quote, which is what I did first. They guided me to the CrossContact LX25. I went to my local store with my Maverick immediately after delivery to get a figure on the trade-in/credit. At the time, Continental was offering $110 back...
Great questions. I could only speculate on the motivation of the engineers. But I've seen a better tire (Michelins, I believe) with the Black Appearance package, so I believe it was more a cost cutting issue and not really worried about getting a bit heavier and stout tire. Especially one...
Discount Tire made me an offer that I could not refuse. The OEM tire credit coupled with the Continental rebate ended up costing me a fraction for a set of new tires with superior traction, wear and warranty.
I ordered a 24 also, "just in case" and now it is being scheduled for production in late November. Our oldest son wants that one for himself now that he got to use our 23. :)
Seeing the many complaints concerning the Continental ProContact TX and observing the weird sidewall bulges upon delivery of our Maverick. I was not really comfortable with running that set of tires. I do a lot of traveling over mountain passes and see occasional snow in our travels. Plus...
Love to see another long waiter get their unicorn. :D Great color! :) So far it has definitely been worth the wait for us. The first month I did not even drive it about 150 miles. Now on a cross country road trip it has been a great companion. Congrats and enjoy!
Unfortunately, this was for the last part of the MY22 model year only and where IMO Ford introduced a lot of confusion. MY23 was back to allocations only, which I only was made aware because the @fordvideoguy was kind enough to inform us it had changed back in MY23. There was no announcement...
That may be what Ford was in fact doing. However, Ford was announcing they would process MY22 orders in the order received. I took notice of this announcement (see below) since I had been waiting almost 6 months at that point.
Ford Authority: 2022 Ford Maverick orders now being scheduled...
Excellent write up and summary. I completely agree with your assessments and conclusions.
However, I feel compelled to say that Ford IMO messed up when halfway through MY22 they made the announcement of changing to assigning VINs with a first in-first out queue model, which tells me they...
