What I don't understand is how the estimates can be so terrible. I received an email last week saying I was rescheduled for next week. OK. It happens.
Then this week I'm told via chat that I've been bumped 5 more weeks to the end of July. How does that happen? Missing your schedule by...
I got my vin and original scheduling from ford chat, but the last two scheduling updates have come via email. Strange how inconsistent they are from person to person.
Did you get emails for all the bumps? I got one for scheduling (week of 6/13) and then on 6/7 I got one saying I was bumped to week of 6/20. Since I haven't heard from this week, I'm hopeful I'm still scheduled for next week.
Overrated issue. My duratec 2.0 looked spotless when I opened it up at 150k to replace the $15 vvt solenoids. Synthetic oil every 10-15k miles and past 6k rpms at least once per week may have helped? I wouldn't shy away from a Ford DI engine.
Only thing that annoyed me was that it seems like...
That's a bit of a red flag, imo. If last year has taught us anything, it's that you want an informed dealer. Find one that has their shit together so that you know your order goes in correctly in the first few minutes of the system going live.
mine works again today (not the link in the email, but https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking) for the first time in a couple of weeks. Has probably worked 6 out of 100 times.
A bit over simplified, in my opinion. What do you think the ecu does if it detects detonation? It can retard ignition timing. That can absolutely have a detrimental effect on mpg.
If it's a relatively simple cable, rather than a complex harness, you'd think a dealership could fabricate something meeting Ford specs rather than wait a month.
