I don't remember a single post of axel problems, with either engine option, on an unmodified truck.
I am maybe wrong, but am very inclined to say the problem rate is insignificant.
Did mine yesterday, it downloaded in about 4-5 songs over the radio, and today I got a message about it being successfully updated.
Connection was via an eero router WiFi on Starlink satellite Internet.
No noted differences yet.
When I had mine done at Wendell Ford in Spokane, the headliner installation was originally not correct on the driver's side. I brought it in again on the next business day, and they corrected it in about 15 minutes.
Otherwise, no problem.
It will be interesting to hear if it deletes the Cruise Control and other mods that many of us have done with Forscan.
No big deal, I guess, we can just reprogram them, but might it cause dealer issues when the update throws error codes because the "wrong" steering wheel switches are installed?
Think about it - if a dealer contacts the customer (say, over the phone) and he says "no thanks," is he realistically going to go in with an ID and sign a form to make it official? And should the vehicle be held hostage until he does?
If won't work.
I have a ding on the front passenger door, but there is no gouge or scratch, so I wonder if it happened at the factory before paint. It is about the diameter of a pencil eraser and hard to find, so I don't lose sleep over it.
I have a small chip on my windshield from gravel, which happened on...
I had mine done last week. When I picked it up, all looked fine except the headliner and A-pillar trim on the driver's side weren't right. The headliner didn't "tuck in" correctly, and the trim didn't fit correctly. Unfortunately, I picked it up late, and there was nobody who could do anything...
I like and usually use snow tires in winter. That said, we have done 2 winters on the factory Continentals, and haven't found them lacking. This is in a hybrid.
Go see them, find out what happened, and whether they are willing to work with you.
If so, work with them.
If not, get your $500, make it very clear you are unhappy, write an honest bad review, and move on.
You have no legal recourse, it isn't worth the pain and stress to try.
This didn't sit right with me. Then thinking it through, for 25 scratches, my Mavericks is free. Heck, after 50 scratches, you can have the truck!
Any takers?
I have run my stock Continentals for two winters so far, and have been quite satisfied. Someday I'll get winter tires, but so far I haven't felt compelled to do so.
