Nobody is going to like this idea, but it is maybe what I would do.
Maybe I would bend a piece of aluminum to fit behind it, and pop rivet it in place, to reinforce it.
Then, depending on how bad that looks, maybe fill the hole with something paintable, and shoot some black spray paint on it...
So, today I had the 4 most recent recalls done on my XL Hybrid. They were all done through software updates.
The end result is that the cruise control and traffic sign recognition no longer function. Oh well, time to pull out FORscan again.

I get 120 mpg average, calculated as miles driven divided by fuel burnt. That, of course, ignores the fact that I plug it in every night, and the bulk of my driving is electric only.

Eco seems to, but that is not necessarily a good thing.

Edit: I may have misunderstood your question. Eco (apparently) provides greater Regen when lifting off the accelerator.

I have had several recalls done, all with the cruise control switches installed. (Mine is an early '21 XL, that didn't have it from the factory.) Nobody has blinked an eye.
Besides, modifying a vehicle does not void a warranty.
