  1. Minor Bumper Damage

Nobody is going to like this idea, but it is maybe what I would do. Maybe I would bend a piece of aluminum to fit behind it, and pop rivet it in place, to reinforce it. Then, depending on how bad that looks, maybe fill the hole with something paintable, and shoot some black spray paint on it...

I am 60 years old, and my 2022 XL was my first new car as well. I hope it is likewise my last vehicle purchase, new or used.

  5. DIY Forscan enabled Cruise control XL models only

So, today I had the 4 most recent recalls done on my XL Hybrid. They were all done through software updates. The end result is that the cruise control and traffic sign recognition no longer function. Oh well, time to pull out FORscan again.
  6. I shot my own FOOT! NEGLIGENCE!!!

I forgot to torque my lug nuts once, but caught it before the wheel departed. Never again, I always check them (at least) twice.
  7. PHEV pollution much higher than it should be

As the owner of a 2013 Volt, my experience with a PHEV is very good. I get 120 mpg average, calculated as miles driven divided by fuel burnt. That, of course, ignores the fact that I plug it in every night, and the bulk of my driving is electric only. What does that electricity cost me? I go...
  8. ECO mode question on Maverick Hybrid

Eco seems to, but that is not necessarily a good thing. Coasting > Regen > Braking Edit: I may have misunderstood your question. Eco (apparently) provides greater Regen when lifting off the accelerator. Regen during braking seems to be mostly affected by operator braking technique. Yep, the...
  9. Maverick Tech in Spokane WA

Wendle has been OK for me so far. They didn't get my headliner on right after the airbag recall, but fixed it when I brought it back. I'll continue using them
  10. What's your Maverick mileage and ownership time?

About 15k miles, picked up in December 2021. It is my gas guzzler, not my daily driver.
  11. 2.5 Hybrid Engine Air Filter Replacement (high flow)

The K&N lets more dust through. If your goal is longevity, I would use paper.
  12. Hybrid question: can you start the ICE independently?

Wow, I'd rather it start than intentionally flooding it.

  15. Hauled 140 inch sectional sofa !!

Shoot, you didn't even have the tailgate open! You could've hauled more .... In my younger days, I hauled ridiculous loads in and on my Ford Focus. I was that guy people were taking pictures of in the Lowes parking lot. The Maverick is better.
  16. Should I replace my stock XL wheel controls when I bring my truck in for a warranty software update?

I have had several recalls done, all with the cruise control switches installed. (Mine is an early '21 XL, that didn't have it from the factory.) Nobody has blinked an eye. Besides, modifying a vehicle does not void a warranty.
  17. Long term storage preparations? -- Disconnect battery, trickle charger, oil change and/or do nothing?

Two months is nothing, just park it. As far as disconnecting the battery, DO NOT DISCONNECT UNDER THE HOOD! If you feel the need to disconnect (which I would not do), disconnect the NEGATIVE CABLE (-) AT THE SOURCE, meaning the 12v battery under the seat (hybrid). There is no need to do...
