I don't understand that. The dealer can't "lock in" a rate for Ford Motor Credit anymore than they could lock in a rate for my credit union. They are only pushing paperwork to the lender. They will get a kick-back from the lender for their work but the dealer has no input on the loan and rates.
Correct...it will be finalized when it arrives but my dealer printed out the order sheet with A/Z/X plan pricing and I signed receipt showing the X plan price minus my deposit.
That doesn't seem right. I ordered with X and many others ordered with A. I saw the Z plan price on my confirmation. I think you just ran into poorly informed sales folk.
1) MSRP is your starting point. Don't buy from a dealer wanting you to pay a premium above that.
2) Check dealerrater.com to see what others think of your local dealership
3) Bring "your deal" home and ask for others input on the message board. Plenty of knowledgeable folks on this site.

At the bottom of the dealer's pricing print it out, it shows A/Z/X plan pricing. The price underneath X plan will INCLUDE the admin fee. You should not see anywhere else. Remember X Plan also limits the dealer fees to a single <$100 doc fee.
The dealers all use the same system to order. After the enter the info...it spits out the MSRP, A/C/X Plan pricing. They are probably just ignorant to the process. Most sales people are not given the credentials to physically enter the order.

Yes and no...the Maverick (like any vehicle) will have a GCVWR. Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating is the maximum weight of your tow vehicle and trailer combined, both loaded with all cargo. The tow vehicle and trailer each have their own separate GVWR numbers, which, combined, make up the...
I concur...but we are modern state park campers. No water, generator, wood etc. I'll convert the 4 flat to a 7 pin to utilize trailer brakes. Pop up campers also have low center of gravity and not the "wind sail" effect of taller campers. Worst case scenario...well drive two vehicles on the...
Agree...we only camp within a few hours and carry minimal equipment. I think we will be under 2000# after throwing a couple hundred pounds on bed. Assuming GCWR is around 3000...we we are more than fine.
Our 2014 Escape with 2.0 pulls it like its not even back there.
Appreciate the input.
