  1. Katzkins installed on XLT Lux seats

    Wry very nice.
  2. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

Two things I forgot to mention. One of the reasons I chose the Blaupunkt was because of its port. Of which made nearly no difference which way it was pointed. The other noteworthy thing I wanted to mention was the floor under the backseat bins. That was the biggest offender on the “tap around”...
  3. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

Found a black plastic cutting board at Ross. It was perfect for for what I needed. I used cardboard to make a template of where the holes live and transferred that to the cutting board. Drilled and countersunk them, predrilled amp holes. Inside the cab I used the stock amp “butterfly” mount...
  4. Budget Budget stereo mods

He is explaining this. There is a small outer lip on the stock speaker. I ran my razor knife around the inside and peeled it off like it was fake.
  5. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

I took a lap through my town to find a piece of plastic. Was looking for a cutting board. Not even my least fav place of Walmart had one.... ugh. Plexi-glass is 40 bux for a suitable piece....
  6. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

The DSP on that Kicker Key amp can "fix" the sounds. Not sure what level of magic it applies to do it. Perhaps it takes all four channels and blends them into full range signal for all the speakers. I am not sure. I breezed the manual for the Key 200.4 once, and I guess it is time to really read it.
  7. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

Well today I installed the Blaupunkt (german for Blue Point). I was slow and methodical. I pulled the amp kit through the door sills. This part was going to stay despite any changes that may happen. I wanted to run a remote wire and a combined run of L+R. I did not use the remote, but it is ran...
  8. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

The new tech of "tap" the speaker leads for "High Level" signal input makes this easier than it used to be. A Line Out Converter (small interface) for legit stereo connections can be added from the speaker wire to reduce the signal to "line level" RCA connections. I am hoping the sub has enough...
  9. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

I am trying to justify buying the Kicker key 200.4 amp. The wiring and install slows that urge. I will likely install the sub today and see how it sounds. originally wanted to keep expense below 500 lol! started at the end and will work forward till we have a sound good enough to crank and sing...
  10. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

I bought the Blaupunkt. Blaupunkt GTHS81 Going to test it out and maybe abuse Amazons return policy. It is of the most affordable units and I am fairly certain it will fit fine ;) if it sounds as good as the stock Elements SC subwoofer(with Kicker speakers); we may stop here.....
  11. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

Thanks for the input! I really want a Punch product because of my prior experiences with them.
  12. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

I had a minute to goof off with so I made a dummy analog of the RockFord Fosgate P300-8P. It wasn't even close. I wanted to start with the larger sized stuff and cut down my dummy until things fit 🙃

Im a Mt. Elden guy. lol.... I do love Tuthill skills area though!!! You Look familiar; I think we may have shared some shuttle days @ Mt. Charleston. Maybe we'll see you this summer on the trails! Cheers 🍻
  14. Active Powered "All-N-One" Subwoofers

I am curious about these contraptions! This thread is not for the people who want to run dual voice coil subs running 2ohm, bridged and molded to the truck boxes with amps and capacitors..... A number of us just need a little seasoning to our taste in music. The future is here and we have a...
  15. SnyperX's Stereo Upgrade Thread

the Infinity is very clear and carries some decent tone. I had to adjust the fader forward to balance the sound out. Even with the Alpines swapped into the door!

I almost drove the Mav up to Flagstaff for this, but I would have wanted to ride my bike. Even still the trails would be crowded. There were dozens and dozens of the overland rigs driving around Kingman on Thursday & Friday
  17. Upgrading the XLT base audio system / door panel removal - finished with lots of pics.

forgot to share: I stole the idea from a member here. I simply cut the stock speaker surround and basket with a razor knife(soft plastic) to harvest the mount. I am cheap and it fits perfectly. Even retained the stock plug by unsoldering the speaker. The Alpine S65c cleared everything with a...
  18. XLT body color matched side mirrors

The wife wants painted door handles like the Bronco sport she saw at the dealership. uggg! The googles found A single handle..... @ $90+EACH! It appears they only come primed and not finished. Unpainted handles I was really hoping on some color "matched" vinyl to wrap the with. I'm thinking it...
  19. SnyperX's Stereo Upgrade Thread

I did the rear speakers first to have an idea of how much difference they made alone. I originally sourced 6.5" Alpine component fronts and the matching 4" for the back. While poking around; I noticed the Infinitys' had a lower frequency range. I wanted to fully exploit the sound the stock...
  20. SnyperX's Stereo Upgrade Thread

For those going into the back for speakers. The rear mounts are unique and may need foam to fill the space. I’d also like to point out that tricky metal clip on the side of the seat trim just needs a poke to release. I used a long screwdriver to press the tab. BTW- how neato is the little magnet...
