  1. Keys can be locked in the truck.

Did you check any of the other doors, or just the driver's when you discovered your were locked out? I was one of the first to have this happen to back in 2022. No rhyme nor reason, sometimes I discovered my doors had locked after exiting the vehicle, but I never heard the "thump" of the power...
  2. Axle Replaced (barely) Under Warranty...but games played on paperwork?

It's more of a Hybrid issue rather than with Ecoboost models. First, only the front wheels are driven (until 2025, anyway), and second is the fact that electric motors can produce a lot of torque off the line, which is harder on the CV joints than with gasoline-powered models. I have had two...
  3. FINALLY!! An upcoming 12v battery fix for hybrids!!!

I'm happy to hear of this, as I have not been able to get through a single winter without it going into deep sleep mode! This will be winter #3 for my Maverick. The dealer replaced the 12v battery in January, that fixed it for the remainder of the winter. Now with cool weather having...
  4. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Ford's stance on the issue, effective Sep 17 2024: SSM 52895 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, 2020-2024 Escape, 2022-2024 Maverick - Uncommanded Locking Of The Driver Door After The Door Is Closed Some 2020-2024 Escape, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles may exhibit the...
  5. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Read my later posts, it became clear that this is an inadvertent locking of the driver's door only. It sometimes happens when you pull the latch and push the door open with the same hand, often when in a rush. Your hand winds up pushing the manual lock rocker below the inside handle, locking...
  6. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Ford actually recently released a dealer bulletin regarding this. They acknowledge that this exact thing is occurring: people inadvertanly locking the driver's door when pushing the door open from inside. Their stance is that there is no actual defect with the vehicle and that no warranty...
  7. Changing The Transmission Fluid on Your Hybrid Maverick (DIY Step By Step)

No, that is the procedure for a conventional automatic. Ford's procedure says to a) turn the steering all the way to the left for easier access to the fill plug. b) run the engine for one minute. c) shut the engine off, wait five minutes, then remove the fill plug to check the level.
  8. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

You need to read my later posts, it explains it all. Your other three doors were still unlocked. It's a design issue: the lock button is too close to the door handle. When opening and pushing the door open with the same hand (usually when in a rush), you wind up inadvertantly locking the...
  9. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

This is a situation where only the driver's door locks, the other three remain unlocked.
  10. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Yup, it continues to happen to me, but very infrequently. As I said in my later posts, I'm convinced it's a design issue, in that the lock is too close to the handle. You wind up locking it accidentally when pushing the door open.
  11. Falken Aklimate -- Falken's First All-Weather Touring Tire

Not true, 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake tires have NOT been "tested and proven capable of performing under extreme winter weather driving conditions.", as you say! Testing is done on packed snow only and braking, turning and ice traction are NOT part of the test. In order to earn the 3-peak symbol...
  12. Factory cargo light question

According to the factory manual: " The cargo and bed lamp illuminate with the courtesy lamps. They can also be illuminated by using the truck bed lamp switch. " As I had mentioned yesterday, it seems my memory was playing tricks on me. :)
  13. Factory cargo light question

I guess so, lol! Thanks for the replies! The whole thing stems from not having any interior or cargo lights for almost three months during the darkest time of the year: the Maverick would go into deep sleep mode right away after driving. The interior lights would only work with the ignition...
  14. Factory cargo light question

I need a sanity check: I have had my Maverick XLT Hybrid for two years. I am sure that the cargo light always came on whenever I opened the tailgate, and has now stopped working (still comes on with the doors). The dealer says that it doesn't come on automatically when opening the tailgate...
  15. Anyone having issues with front CV axles?

I own a 2022 hybid. In the past few months I have noticed a shimmy in the front end when applying power, mostly in the 60-80 km/h (35-50mph) range. It is not there at high, divided highway speeds. It got really bad this past week, after a long highway drive. Any time I applied power there...
  16. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

Have a look at my August 23rd update (two posts above), I'm convinced it's just a "fat finger" thing. The lock is so close to the release handle that if you unlatch and push the door open at the same time (usually when in a rush), you wind up locking the driver's door.
  17. Doors lock me out if I leave the keys in the ignition

It's been 10 months now since my October 2022 update to this thread, and I stand by what I said back then. I have been more careful when opening the door and the problem has not re-ocurred (ok, maybe once). Only one door locks, not all, so the Maverick can still be entered. I remain...
  18. Purchased the Amazon Center console bin

I'm just curious: why don't you use the factory keycard holder?
