I bought a 4 door Mercury Comet in 1975, does that count? (Same car as a Maverick) I unfortunately had the 250 cu in six which got worse mileage than a V8. Traded it on a Pinto wagon in ‘76 (no, the wagons didn’t catch on fire !).

Any replacement under warranty usually carries the balance of the original warranty. Example: if you have an 8 year warranty and the part is replaced at 7 years, you have 1 year left on your warranty, it doesn’t start over with the new or refurbished part.

There are literally dozens of different phone mounts. One of them could surely be mounted to hold the phone next to the 8” screen.

Unknown. The aftermarket is usually pretty good at addressing installation issues. Check your dealer, they may offer through an outside source.
