Today was a bunch of small accessories. This first one was also the first thing that I put into my Maverick Amazon wish list: (BTW, none of the links below are affiliate links.)

Secure that glass breaker to something so you can grab it in the event of a roll over. It does no good if it's been thrown around the vehicle. Also, a good idea is a seat belt cutter. I've always just had a knife with a seat belt cutter and glass breaker to simplify.

When I was military, I learned first hand how valuable that stuff is and you should definitely have it accessible in a majority of scenarios. Same with a fire extinguisher. They make brackets for the drivers seat so you can grab it from under your legs. I also carry a first aid kit in the door with the tourniquet easily deployable and applied with one arm.

This stuff takes priority for me over "what water bottle will fit" stuff.

Thanks for sharing the under seat storage mat. I've had a rattle from my tire patch kit and this should solve it. I put a towel under it for the time being, but I like the mats. I went with a different center console storage unit after having some fitment issues, but I definitely miss the bigger size one in my Escape. The center console is too small in the Mavericks. I'd love the same size the Escapes get with that little storage tray in front of them just removed. I try to keep as little stuff unsecured in the can as possible and never use those types of things.

More updates before I go out and add more things. ;-)

I remember seeing in an older thread someone getting an orange SIBL and really liked the look. So, here is my Atlas Blue Mav with an orange Line-X SIBL (done by First State Line-X here in Delaware, so no sales tax)

They mostly did a good job, but I'm a little disappointed that they sprayed over the rubber grommets and the 12V accessory plug covers. The grommets may not be a big deal, if I need to pass a wire through them they still feel soft enough that I should be able to cut them with a razor blade. I'm more annoyed that the 12V accessory plug covers got covered over with SIBL. I wonder if the back side of those are accessible with the tail-lights removed so I don't have to cut them out in the future.

You can also see the "313 Days to Get My Truck" sticker that I ordered from Zazzle using the instructions on this forum thread that I replaced the dealer "SF" sticker.

A couple more items done yesterday:

AVS BUGFLECTOR II BUG SHIELD that I got with MTC discount from RealTruck:

More add-ons this weekend.

Klutchtech Tailgate Assist. I went with Klutchtech because it looks the same as the DeeZee and has Maverick decals.
Ford Maverick May I present to you... PXL_20230806_175229737

Klutchtech Ford Maverick Hood Struts, again chosen from all the different brands because of the Maverick decal. Now that these shocks are installed I'm having trouble opening my hood. I didn't have another person handy at the time, but I did find that if I jammed my EZ-Pass transponder in the gap after the first hood release pull then then second hood release pull works. I think I need to get one of those hood springs mentioned in this thread. Unless someone has a better idea.

Because I only used one decal on each shock (both the hood struts and the tailgate damper) and they came with enough for two decals on each shock, I now have 3 spare Maverick decals to use wherever I want.

BAK REVOLVER X4S TONNEAU COVER, again with the MTC discount from RealTruck.

I was considering using one of the Maverick decals on the underside of the cover so it would show when rolled up (similar idea to the Ford oval on the Ford branded BAK Revolver X2), but I don't think the decals are large enough to see at a distance.

I am considering designing and 3D printing an add-on for this cover to hold the tie-down clips to the underside so they aren't flopping around when closed.

Muslogy for Maverick Cargo Mesh Net. Basic vertical cargo net. I can lock my work laptop in the bed in the net, and can trap grocery bags between the tailgate and the net. Probably will be my most used cargo solution if it doesn't fall apart.
Ford Maverick May I present to you... PXL_20230806_224352788

And now Samwise has his name-badge in the front license plate holder (my state doesn't require front license plates so that is a convenient customization location). I grabbed a still frame from the animated Rankin/Bass The Return of the King movie and then used the customizer feature at Build A Sign. (My only connection to Build A Sign is as a customer, this is the second vehicle name-plate that I designed and purchased through them.)

For all those who got a front license plate holder but have no need for one, here is an idea on how to use it. 🤠

A couple more addons this past weekend:

As mentioned, above, I was having problems getting the hood to open on the second pull of the hood-release. Jamming something under the front of the hood to provide some pressure up would allow me to open the hood. Based on one of the conversations in this thread lead me to get this QGQZIQG Engine Automobile Car Hood Up Spring.

The hood pops open now on the 2nd pull of the hood release. Hopefully this is a permanent solution.

LASFIT WT21W LED Bulb Backup Reverse Light. I forgot to get a picture of how bright my backup lights were before the swap. They seem brighter to me, but that might be the oxygen free speaker wire effect that audiophiles argue over. ;)

3D MAXPIDER KAGU FLOOR LINERS, my final MTC discount from RealTruck. Here is the vendor agnostic link from the manufacturer. They have both Ecoboost and Hybrid models.

And finally (for last weekend) Auovo Cup Holder Insert Compatible with 2022 2023 Ford Maverick Accessories Center Console Inserts Cup Holder Liners Anti Dust Mats Door Pocket Liners 19pcs(Orange). So far the pieces in the door haven't shifted noticeably, but then I don't drive too crazily. 🤪

(Even one for the bottom of the glove box.)

I thought I was done, but I just ordered the L Track cargo management system from @Maverick2112 on eBay, hopefully he still has some in stock.

Those tailgate letters look to be exactly what I wish to eventually do to my truck.

How reflective are they?

Unfortunately not at all. I just haven't gotten around to complaining to the seller.

This picture is at night with the truck off. The illumination is the flash from my camera phone. The retroreflectors in the tail-lights are really bright, the letters not at all.

I'm considering trying to find replacements, but I'm not sure how to get the letters off without also pulling up chunks of paint. Maybe liberal application of IPA, carefully peeling a little at a time? Anyone else have suggestions on how to get tailgate letters out of the recesses w/o damaging the tailgate?

Figured i could add to this thread. Bought the little chrome letters from amazon. They are peel and stick. Also survived a pressure wash.

I got the L-Track cargo management rails from @Maverick2112 installed over the weekend. Looks good, but I need practice clipping the rings in blind while reaching over the side of the bed. Took me several tries until I got it, just need to learn the muscle memory. ;)

Digging the color on the Line-x. Wait to take the blue and orange and run with it. I have the same cover and line has some leaks at the bulk head. I have added seals and some silicone putty and got it down to a few drips that comes off the spring loaded latches. How is your holding up to rain? Thanks Also, I did the same L-track rails love them.

Thanx for the compliments. I really do like the look, but I can't take credit for the idea. Someone here posted a picture of doing the same thing. And that made me realize that doing the bed just extended the design idea from inside the cabin. I remember reading that the orange accents in the cabin are on the expected "touch points" (door handle, air vent adjusters, etc). So, I figure, that the biggest "touch point" of a cargo vehicle is the actual cargo area itself.

I haven't really inspected for water leaks that much (no bed rug to try to keep dry ;) ), but I suspect I have some leaks by the latches simply because at night I can see light from inside the bed with everything closed at those corners. At some point, I'm going to 3D print myself a couple shims (probably 1/4" at first) to push the bed rails a little further back towards the tailgate. Probably out of solid TPU for a little rubber grippy so they hopefully won't slip off over time with vibration.

One thing that I did during my initial install is I used little scraps of the soft gasket foam to fill the notches in the plastic trim on the sides near the front under the rails. I don't know if that helped since I don't have any performance metrics without the gap fill. But it made me feel a little better about the install.
