It's going to affect the Gen 2 Maverick release. I don't see the new Maverick until late 2029 model year.
The Fathom will take away Maverick buyers- same pricing, no gas, faster and will probably have some trick features that will be an upgrade over Maverick. I personally would not buy the initial release of the Fathom given the past performance of Ford on new designs.

Completely agree, as a Maverick beta tester with a MY22. Most of the recalls on the Maverick have been software, or electrical gremlins, and while some still linger in the later models, the 25-26 seem solid over all. Took them three production years, which is the norm.

And Fathom is using a brand new assembly process and completely new vehicle architecture. Will take longer than normal given all the new processes and procedures involved.

You also didn’t pay the same for your MY22 as the people who waited. I wonder how much the Fathom will cost in 3-5 years if it’s originally successful?

Accounting for inflation since 2022, I paid the same amount for my XLT Lux as it would cost today, the money was just worth more, so it wasn't really cheaper. ;)

If inflation stays around 2.72% (inflation since 2022 is around 11% total) the Fathom will see similar price adjustments year to year, just like the Maverick did.

Weird.

MY 2005 (late 2004 release) Hybrid Escape:

Ford's first hybrid ever.
North America's first hybrid ever.

Rock Solid. No mechanical or software recalls.

Had one comfort & convenience recall.
The center armrest cubby may not stay latched in a collision. Free latch replacement was available but optional.
