I wanted to share the current interior/electrical side of my Maverick build. The exterior setup got its own post, but this part deserved a separate breakdown because it has taken a lot more planning than it probably looks like from the photos.

The goal was to build a cleaner auxiliary power setup that could support camping, charging, lighting, and future accessories while keeping everything tucked inside the truck and out of the bed.

This is still a work in progress, but this is the current layout.

Current Setup;VIDEO.LINK>GOOGLE(<- Video Of Setup!!)
Ohmmu 24F/H5 Adventure Series Sodium Starter Battery
This is currently being used as the starter battery. I’ve been monitoring how it behaves with the hybrid system and overall it has been an interesting piece of the build.

Ohmmu G31 180Ah Gen 5 Group 31 Auxiliary Battery
This is the main auxiliary battery for the system. It gives me a dedicated power source inside the truck for camping gear, charging, and future accessories.

CTEK D250SE DC-DC Charger
This handles charging for the auxiliary battery. I wanted something more controlled than a basic battery-to-battery connection, especially with the hybrid setup.

MATOBOB 1500W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
This gives me standard AC power when needed for things like camera gear, laptops, chargers, and campsite use.

FASTSTORM 6 AWG Battery Cable
Used for the main power runs between the auxiliary battery, charger, inverter, and distribution components. I went with 6 AWG for most of the layout because it kept the install manageable while still being appropriate for the current setup.

FASTSTORM 300A Battery Disconnect
Added so the auxiliary side can be isolated when needed. It also lets me manually enable or disable charging to the auxiliary battery instead of having the system active all the time.

F-3 Industrial Felt from The Felt Store
This is being used for padding and sound deadening around the setup. It helps reduce vibration, keeps things from rubbing directly against hard surfaces, and makes the area feel a little more finished.

Why I Went This Route
I wanted the setup inside the truck instead of mounted in the bed. For me, it keeps the system more protected, easier to access, and better integrated into the rest of the build.

The main things I wanted were:
  • A separate auxiliary battery for accessories
  • A cleaner way to charge the aux battery while driving
  • AC power available when needed
  • A disconnect for safety and serviceability
  • Room to expand the system later
  • Better padding/sound control around the install area
  • Battery which can have charging or/and discharging switched on/off.
There is still cleanup work I want to do, especially with wire management and finishing panels, but the main system is in place now.

Haha I like that setup honestly, simple and it gets the job done. That’s really what it comes down to, whatever fits your needs and how you actually use the truck.

I went a little overkill with mine just because I wanted everything hardwired and always ready to go, but setups like yours are nice since they’re super flexible and easy to move around.

End of the day as long as it works for your use case, that’s all that matters 👍

I just realized I didn't put a blank photo with no labels. So here is that.

Wow, nice setup.
It looks like plywood on the right side of that picture... did you remove the back seat?

Yeah I pulled the rear seat out and built a flat platform in its place. That section you’re seeing is a plywood base. It keeps everything level and gives me a solid spot to mount the electrical setup.

The stock rear seat incline was honestly annoying to work around, especially trying to mount anything cleanly. I also never really have anyone back there anyway. I’m 6’1” so having someone sit behind me is pretty much not happening.

This setup just fits how I actually use the truck. I’ve got my car fridge mounted back there so it’s always ready to go, plus a crate for my Australian Cattle Dog so she’s secure and has her own space. It also gives me a flat area for storage so nothing’s sliding around.

And if you know cattle dogs, you already know… cloth seats were not gonna survive 😂 between the dirt, hair, and chaos, this setup saves me a lot of cleanup.

Overall it just made the truck way more practical for daily use and trips.

HOWEVER
Quick follow up because I should’ve mentioned this earlier

When I was designing the setup and working with the brands, I made a point to keep everything reversible. The seat removal is just my preference, not something you have to do.

You can run this same kind of setup with the rear seats still in. Nothing here requires permanent modification to the truck, so it’s easy to go back to stock if you ever want to.

That was a big goal for me from the start, make something that actually works but that anyone could copy without committing to a full interior delete.

Hi everyone! Looking to introduce myself. My name is Josh and I’m the creator of SeatDeletes.
I’m obsessed with design and creating products that change the way in which we interact with our space.
I love what I’m seeing here. The amount of space Ford allows us to have access too is a world of opportunity. I love seeing people utilize this space. With our kit we place a smaller inverter under our platform in the middle section. The area closest to the door has so much space underneath one could put a small compressor and run the chuck through the plastic like I see someone did above.
So many possibilities!

Love the fridge setup.
What brand/model is that?

Would love to get one for the backseat.
Most I have seen end up with a very small interior compartment versus the overall size.

Excellent work guys and thanks for sharing. That's what makes these forums so valuable to all of us. F***book and other sites don't have the content and reputation. I'll be adding lots of interesting content to this site over the coming years. I'm recently retired and "should" have a lot of spare time to experiment with designs & mods! We'll see .........
