I really messed up big time when I did my Maverick Homework...
ordered hybrid XLT with moonroof and sliding rear window in June..... build take for now id week Dec 20

I knew about NO Sat radio and no fog lights

Didnt know about no rear window defrost or no push button start

I drive around 250 highway miles a week for work and was looking for good mileage

I understand the desire for rear defrosters.

Push button start is tremendously overrated.

Once you have it there is no going back. Not having to fumble with keys is extremely convenient. It is a must have on all future vehicle purchases for me.

I had it on my 08 Altima
Didn’t have it on my 2014 F150
Have it on my 2011 Prius
Don’t have it in my Wife’s 14 Versa

I also had it on nearly all military vehicles Ive driven. Hint: A LOT!

So I have to disagree.

I have to agree. I never thought I wanted it or needed it, but once I got a car that had it, I will never go back. That is one of the main reasons I upgraded to the Lariat with keyless entry. Forget about the push button start. Just touch the door handle and the car unlocks is the real winner. The key will never leave my pocket.

Yeah, I don’t know about overrated. I went from push-button to keyed start, and it sucks a little bit. I’ve had my car for three years now, and I still forget to get the key out of my pocket, so I have to squirm around to get it out. Champagne problem, admittedly. However, it’s definitely a convenience I miss. That’s just me though.

we all have our opinions. My Prius is so quite I have left it running a few times. I also have Left the keys in the car too many times as I hate having them in my pocket while driving.

Kinda like having a manual transmission. Some folks have no idea what the 3rd pedal is for.

I can live without push button, but being in northeast the rear window deforster is needed even with the back window being straight up and down... dont get mirrors being heated but not that ?

I dunno.....in a nearly vertical window, like a PU, pretty useless IMO. Never used RR defrost once in either of my F150's, which sat out 24/7.

I think it was a smart area to save cost.

PB start is a non-factor for me.....don't care either way. You still have push or twist something to start the truck, so......

Remote start is definitely a must-have, regardless of how it works, key or FOB.

Been there done that with my wife's Infiniti in downtown Philly when getting cheesesteaks. Ran for maybe a half hour. Came back and it was still there, running. Avoided that catastrophe, but yeah - I'm cool with actual keys now.

I don’t need rear defrosters either but I have had to scrape ice off my rear windows before. I guess that the defroster didn’t work all that great. And the cars I’ve had mostly had slanted rear windshields. Used to live in Nebraska but I live in Arizona now so I don’t even need it.

we all have remote start via the app, if the is sufficient.

I have left it on overnight once and for a 2 day vacation another time. I park outside for this reason.
