Purchased Lariat, turbo gas, in April and never checked the 120v outputs until recently, no output. Went back to dealer in October, couldn't look at for a couple weeks, could not provide loaner in mean time. Scheduled a service call where they could provide loaner as they had no idea how long repair would take. As it turned out, took almost 2 weeks and was tracked down to one of the computers being defective. $2000 repair, under warranty.

Good to know. I never even checked my Lariat. I’ll have to try it out.

I just had mine fixed. It ended up being one of the power inverters. There's three of them. The rear one was bad. The dealer replaced the front one first and that didn't solve the problem. They ended up swapping out a couple of the inverters with known good ones from another Maverick. Problem went away. Ford customer service was great at keeping me informed of what was going on. It took over a week to solve the problem.
It sounds as though if one inverter goes bad you won't get power from any of them.

So, what happens two years later when the warranty has expired? Another $2000.00 only now out of pocket. What caused the inverter/s to go bad?

More cr*p to go bad IMHO.

We have inverters in all of our sleeper cab trucks but they are hard wired to the batteries not hooked up to some fragile computer.

I'm not sure I will ever use those plug ins...

I think the inverter is only good for 400 watts which is only about an amp and a half. is that true?

At 110v it would be 3.6 amps and at 120v it would be 3.3 amps. That is on the AC side. It will take about 32 amps on the DC side to get that output.

So out of curiosity, what could we run on those things? Seriously. Battery charge for power tools? Thanks!

Most things tolerate modified sinewave very well. Sure makes it easy to carry and operate a very useful led worklight that snapon sells which can light up an area with enough light to film a movie among other things.
