2025 Mavericks Should Start Production Anytime, Right?

I would imagine that whatever's out there for 24s is it and Ford will make its transition to 25s sometime soon, right? I haven't heard anything about it so far. I have one on order for the scheduled week of 11/25. Not that I'm totally enthused about it since the 22-24s will be missed for having the nicer and less controversial looking front fascia. Not to mention the elimination of physical hvac controls in part of the new Sync4 infotainment screen. The added technology will be a nice welcome (i.e., road sign detection, 360-degree camera, intersection assist, projector beam headlights for better night visibility) but it comes at the expense of a higher MSRP and more complicated screen setup.

Regarding physical appearance, I'll have to see it for myself to make a real judgment call. I think we all need to do that before jumping to conclusions. Who knows, maybe I'll like it. Maybe you all will too. That's how I felt with many vehicles in the past. Pictures and video just don't do it justice. You have to see it with your own eyes.

I need to clarify my reasoning for ordering a vehicle that I don't have any intention to purchase. It was an experiment by my internet sales manager to see if production of the Maverick has improved over the years and to see if it gets here any faster as a result. It was ordered under my name so I can keep track of it. By the time it goes through production, shipping and arrival, it's looking like five months, which is about in line with my last two Mavericks. The first one taking six months ('22 Lariat EB AWD) and the second one taking five months ('24 Lariat EB FX4)

It wasn't an opportunity to sell and make a quick profit like someone on here is trying to do and is getting rightfully scolded for it. Not in a million years would I do that. Plus, those days are over. Not with high inflation, high interest rates, and abundant supply.

It'll be interesting once it arrives. I'm hoping I don't like it. I have a funny feeling I will and want to upgrade, especially since it's a Hybrid AWD. You get the best of both worlds that way. Hybrid efficiency with AWD capability. It would be my first Hybrid which is a technology I'm a big fan of, especially after driving a Toyota Sienna Hybrid as a rental recently. It'll be a hot seller for sure, even it does have an ugly face. I would imagine most customers and dealers will order them this way. Only time will tell which should be soon.

As much as I prefer the current look, reality is there's nothing out there like it on the market. Most folks that don't like the refresh are probably going to go through with their purchase anyway.

According to what we know from some of the dealers who post here, production for MY25 started today.

As for appearance, if I didn't already have a Maverick I might have considered a MY25, but there are a lot of other choices out there now prices on used vehicles are getting better. In my area used Mavericks have started to drop $5-10k under MSRP, which wasn't the case even a few months ago, when they were still over MSRP (even 22s), not to mention non-Ford options. Do they match the Mavericks feature set and size? Not always, but given all the issues with the Maverick people are looking elsewhere.

Even 6-8 months ago just about every post on this forum would be off the first page in a few hours, now they hang around for days. Same on the Reddit and Facebook pages, the interest is already waning.

I dislike the initial 3 years of front ends that I just could not buy one but the 25 front end just looks so much better that I ordered one the first day.

Yea 2025s look like they got hit with the ugly stick, and i prefer the look of the 22-24s by far. However, i value the 360 camera and larger screen more than i hate the new front grille, so i ordered a 25 tremor.

If you REALLY hate the look, just get black, seems to hide it the best.

Or, if you really hate the front end, always approach the truck from the rear or side. Never never from the front.

So did you like the Toyota hybrid? From my anecdotal perspective it seems like most people who drive a hybrid for the first time are presently surprised. I'll be honest I've never driven one. A buddy of mine who's retired and in his early seventies and a lifelong gearhead who owns a couple of Corvettes rented a Honda Accord hybrid this year and couldn't believe how smooth it was

So did you like the Toyota hybrid? From my anecdotal perspective it seems like most people who drive a hybrid for the first time are presently surprised. I'll be honest I've never driven one. A buddy of mine who's retired and in his early seventies and a lifelong gearhead who owns a couple of Corvettes rented a Honda Accord hybrid this year and couldn't believe how smooth it was

Aside from the buzzy gas engine that kicks in, it was a wonderful experience. Most of the time it's in EV mode anyway which is part of the reason I enjoyed it so much. Nice, smooth and quiet power. Add to the fact that there's no torque converter automatic transmission and instead a CVT. I rented it on a family vacation and decided to upgrade over the standard Chrysler Pacifica. I'm glad we did. A whole week's worth of driving and I was averaging between 37-42 mpg with four-six people in it at any given time.
