I’m in Michigan & plenty on dealerships all over… you can search autotrader.com for instance
No shortage of dealers around here either.

I think the remote transaction and delivery is not part of their normal business process and they don't want to take what they perceive to be a risk.

I'm making progress:

Found these and both meet my requirements for AWD, 4K, Co-Pilot.

Which one is smarter to buy:

1) New 2024 XLT, AWD, 4K tow, Co-Pilot, full size spare, equipment group 300A, MSRP $32,125
My price: $32,125 + $816 in fees plus sales tax

2) Used, 2024 XLT, AWD, 4K tow, Co-Pilot, Luxury package, 17" allow wheel package, equipment group 300A, 4600 miles, MSRP $34,775

My price: $30,995 + fees + sales tax

These 2 vehicles are available and I'm trying to figure out which one would be smarter to buy.

Get the one with the luxury package. It's cheaper and adds quite a few extras. You can use the $ you save to purchase an extended warranty. Just my thoughts.

I know it's only 5000 miles, but doesn't the used aspect of it introduce a certain amount of risk?

Carfax can tell you all you need to know about it. Ford will have all service records. An extended warranty will assure added protection.

Then it sounds like you already have chosen between the two... now you're just looking for confirmation from total strangers at this point...

I’m sure many dealers will since you’re paying for it, even the grainger dealer on here given discounts, etc… I don’t see any problem getting deals with delivery and I see plenty of new ones on the lots around here. Dealership should be able to get payment from you easily.

Personally, I would go with the new one. I don't care about electric seats and heated seats and steering wheel, etc. My XLT is fine without all that stuff. Plus, I like that I'm the first person to own it and know how it was treated since day 1. I have to admit that when I first saw this post, I thought it was a scam. 😬

I know it has major potential for red flags.

I can't be the only one that is very busy and doesn't have patience.

I'm still confused between the used and the new. Sure, the used has the Luxury package and is cheaper, and it only has 5,000 miles. The story the dealer provided is that previous owner has a Super Duty and felt the Maverick was too small. Perfectly plausible, but impossible to verify.

I'm not usually frozen with indecision, but $35K and 10 years with a vehicle is a substantial decision.
