Hey guys. I've searched the forums and can find several posts on this but no solutions. My heated steering wheel times out after about 10 minutes. Switch light stays on but wheel cools down. The only way to get it to heat up again is to shut the truck off for a minute and restart. I've read on other forums that the timeout can be disabled in Forscan but no instructions or valuable info. I haven't had my Maverick long and I don't have Forscan yet. Waiting on the cable from Scamazon. Has anyone dealt with this on here?

Here is what I found. When comparing the lightning to the Maverick, the Maverick doesn’t have the save as built parameters as the lightning. It seems that they are/possibly the same line that the temperature setting is, but I am not going to experiment with different settings to find out.

Sad. I thought it was just my imagination that it seemed to not be heating anymore. But, I suppose it can be turned off and back on again. I know, first world problems, right?

That doesn't work. The engine must be turned off and on again. I guess it is a first world problem... Then again I paid a significant amount of my first world money for a first world truck with a first world heated steering wheel. And my first world hands expect first world heat when the switch is on.

Thank goodness it does shutdown, otherwise it may just combust. Mine gets really hot, but like my bun warmer, I only need it on for a few minutes before it gets uncomfortable. "Disclaimer" - I live in Texas, and cold snaps don't usually last long. It can be 10 degrees on Monday, and 90 on Thursday ;)

I'm in Canada so I'd leave them on from the beginning of September to the end of June.

this is the answer.

I don't know what mine defaults to, but it's enough for me. however, my wife did mention last year that she didn't want it to turn off automatically, so I'll have to get out my laptop and obd2 cable and get that done. (y)
