I got one of these as a rental once while my Chrysler was in the shop. The engine noise was so high at 55 mph that I called the rental car company and said I thought something was wrong with it. I thought there was something wrong with the transmission and it wasn't upshifting into a higher gear lol.

Whoever paid $18k must have a hole in thier head. Could have found a used Fiesta for cheaper and had a much better car with not much less mpg. I bought a new 2011 Fiesta hatchback and was getting 42 mpg on the interstate.

I bought a 90 Metro as my first new work car when I went full time at my job. It was a little 3 cylinder, 5 spd, no a/c, pop can but it served me well for 250k miles and I gave it to a new coworker and he put another 40k on it. Great little car for it's purpose.

I can't remember the last time I saw one of these. And to see one in new condition! That's incredible. It was obviously preserved in a climate-controlled environment to be that pristine for 21 years. I wonder who had the intention of saving such a disposable car. But that price.......damn! That's the equivalent of buying a new Toyota Corolla LE which this car certainly ain't! I wonder whoever bought it is actually going to drive it or preserve it even longer and keep it as an investment. I also wonder if they'll try to take it to car shows to see people's confused reaction to see such an out of place car there.
