The exposed bottom edge of the rear window looked awfully vulnerable to accidental damage by shifting loads or clumsy loading of junk for the dump (guilty on my previous truck). So I added a strip of common 2" black/chrome body side molding (this product was off Amazon). Plus it reminds me of Chevy/GM. First attempt at a post, hope it works.

What color is your Maverick??
If you decide to get a hard foldable tonneau cover. Look at BakFlip, some what pricey but, when it is completely folded up. If you do any amount of oversized hauling. It covers your rear window and protects it from the load.
It could pay for itself by avoiding one broken rear window.

Nice custom mod. I too have worried about cargo hitting the glass. Nice job.

Silver, I think it is just reflecting the blue sky at dusk....

Thank you for the reply.
I think you should send that picture to Ford and suggest that as a new color for the Maverick. "Sky Silver" or "Silver Sky"
Silver was my first choice, unfortunately it's not what I ended up with.

as long as it doesn't trap moisture, it's a fine idea

I used two yardsticks laid flat for a guide to be sure there was a good drainage gap below. I live in dry Nevada, but I used to live on the coast, and I know how important drainage is.
