Extended Warranty advice / feedback / reviews?

Warranty's are not worth it. Something goes wrong trade it in, it's cheaper and you have a new vehicle. Dealers are glad to absorb the cost. Had many many vehicles and never a warranty.

What does it cost? Or what should it cost I guess I should ask hahaha

Unfortunately I can't say. My wife works for the corporate office of the dealerships that her company owns so we get it for a lower price than most. I have gotten them for maybe 1000-1100 bucks, maybe a little more, but not sure what a regular consumer pays. But check with the companies people have posted. You can get different coverages and there are different lengths and mileages.

I’m seeing people talk about trans issues and I’m about to pick up a 24 mav hybrid the end of the month. Can I hear some of your thoughts or experiences with dealer warranties or warranties in general? Am I better off elsewhere or should I go with deal at the time of purchase?

I wouldn't be considered with transmission on the hybrid, failures seem to be on the traditional transmission.

A word of caution before you purchase. Check with your dealership's service department on their policy regarding these warranty plans. Not all will honor them after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. My dealership does not and they are not required to.

So you’re saying if something were to go wrong to trade it up and take on a payment for the remaining money instead of coming out of pocket for the new part on your old car?

I bought the warranty because of the uncertainty of the battery systems and all of the electronics. One good solar flare in the wrong location and we all will
be walking.

Save your money for ( in case repair) . Add to the fund for future repair or maintenance . That's my opinion .
