I'm pretty sure Homelink parts are in short supply right now. Luxury automakers are dropping it from 2022 models too.

Glad you asked about this. I noticed there was no space to hold a garage remote control overhead near the sunglass holder. I wonder why Ford did not include such a small cubby space for this overhead, so that all one needed to do wash reach up a push. 
I wonder if it will be difficult to modify the sunglasses holder for this purpose.

But I don't like leaving my garage door opener or any keys exposed in the vehicle, so, I haven't found any use for that cubby yet.

I think it is Chamberlain that has a way to use a phone app to open, close and make sure your idiot son-in-law didn't forget to close the garage door.
