When we ordered the Black Appearance Package (BAP), I wasn't sure about the look of the wheels. I liked that they are 18 inch but wasn't sure about the look. Since we picked up the truck in April, I liked them and they have grown on me. I inadvertently did something that makes me like them better. Whenever I wash the truck, I use Armor All Tire Foam on the tires. Sometimes I am in a hurry when cleaning the truck and get a lot of overspray on the wheels. When I go to wipe the excess off of the wheel, it creates a shine that makes the wheel kind of a shiny satin instead of flat. I like that look. I have no idea if it is going to hurt the paint (or powder coat, whatever it is) but I think it improves the look. Just my opinion. :)

Looks great! I wouldn’t worry about the paint, I’m sure Armour All would have taken that into consideration when making a tire product.
Let us know how it ages. Some products I’ve used tend to ā€˜gray out’ black finishes over time.

Yeah, I use Armor All on my tires as well. It doesn't seem to hurt the black paint.

For me it's just the spoke design. I'm not a fan of it. The previous ones that my '22 came with (before the BAP) were okay, and gloss if that's what you like, but I'd prefer they had been matte and I might have kept them on.

And no, the tire shine won't really hurt anything as long as it's not caked on there and the excess is rubbed off. It might cause premature rust on the lug nuts though, or around them etc etc. It just attracts dirt is the problem.

You can use something like a 303 and get the same effect, on the tires too! Much better compound to mix with the rubber and your wheels. It's also water based though, so any excess will streak. But every time I've used it I've had great results. I even used it on the paint one time instead of a quick wax solution. Didn't last as long obviously, but still good.

I went with black vinyl lug nut covers. I'll see how hard they are to remove when it's time to rotate the tires.
