I have received an email that my order for the 2022 Ford Maverick, XLT w\ Luxury PKG is soon to start production.

Really the only main mod I'd like to make is swapping out the RIMS for a set of BLACK Aftermarket rims. I personally think a set of Black Rim's with the stock tires or similar stock tires. I think it will just add to the flair I'm looking for matched with the Area 51 paint color and black trim already located on various aspects of the body.

Will aftermarket rims affect MPG in the hybrid, in any significant way?

I am not wanting larger or more aggressive tires, just black rims.

If they are similar sized and weight to the stock rims and you put similar tires it should be about the same. Rolling resistance and aerodynamics are the primary factors that impact mpg when it comes to wheels.

If you get a lighter wheel/tire set up with some LRR tires you should yield better results.

Any added rotational weight via tires, rims or brake rotors will impact gas mileage and performance for sure.

It will have a negative impact on MPG only if you change sizes in order to fit bigger/wider tires.

Are LRR tires something offered by most retailers?

Yes.
I’m a huge fan of Nokian tires and most of their line up is LRR and have aramid sidewalls.
If you’re not looking for an AT or all-weather their One/One HT offers free tire replacements if the sidewall blows out before 6years or 2/32” I believe.

Where can I find the weight of the OEM wheels?

Just remember that if the cost is too high you do no recoup the extra money spent.

Low rolling resistance.

I believe one of the Ford employees on the site stated it was about 23lbs for the XLT 17s and 25lbs for the 18s.
Edit: Here’s the post:
18" wheels come in at 25.9 lbs, 17" wheels at 23.3 lbs. Tires vary, but are usually around 25 lbs.

This is true, but there are plenty of budget friendly options that should net minimal cost after selling the OE wheels/tires if cost is an issue.
His goals are improving the looks of the truck without negativity impacting fuel economy. That’s easy.

No it won't make a significant difference on fuel economy.

Most of the time the vehicle isn't accelerating, and fuel economy is based on what the engine is doing, well, most of the time. Tires would have more of an impact, since they can affect rolling and wind resistance, but you already seem aware of that. Nothing to worry about bar installing ludicrously heavy wheels.
