I am still having issues with my drivers side door locking on its own, even after reading through the threads on this. I am not hitting anything accidentally. It ONLY locks the drivers side door, and I usually discover this after I have parked it in the garage for the evening. The next morning it is locked. The other doors remain unlocked which is really confusing. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Any suggestions or things I should ask the service rep about this other than the obvious?

Hello Anita, I would like to take a look into your door concerns on my end. Could you please send us a message with your VIN and mileage?

My 2024 XL did this once or twice. I thought maybe I hit the button on the remote by accident, but the key was on the front seat. A mystery to me how the car got locked.

Also it was in the garage and getting stuff in or out, figured I'd go upstairs and get the other key- but tried the rear door and it was unlocked! Only 250 miles or so at the time. Hasn't happened again since then.

Hi - I had that issue randomly on both my '22 Lariat EB and a few times on my '24 Lariat hybrid.

Honestly, in my case it was user error. When I reach for the door release lever with my left hand, I saw that I rolled my hand to the right when I pull on the lever which pushed in on the lock lever, located just above the release lever.

After I exited, only the driver's door was locked.

The lock lever has no "stop" or other way to feel that it is engaged. It takes very little pressure to push it in. Since I became aware of this, it has not happened again.

Thanks for the observation, I'll pay attention to that for sure. Random events are a pain to figure out for sure.

Yes, experiment a few times in your driveway. In my case, I experimented a few different times and found what I wrote. Now I loop a finger into the door release and pull out. Shouldn't require that.

I sat in the passenger seat and did the same movement with my right hand. My hand did not rotate to the right and did not make contact with the door lock lever.

My conclusion is that Ford should redesign the door release lever so a driver can't inadvertently activate the door lock lever. Some vehicles have a red line that is visible on the lock lever, I think Toyota does that.

Edit: My 24 Lariat hybrid is an early 24 build, #3170 VIN assigned, has 4150 miles on it [low mi for 10 months]. I have not had any issues. I have not done any recalls yet. I let it sit for 16 days, no battery tender, etc. while we were away and it fired right up. And my driver's door hasn't locked again...

Doors locking, horn double beeping and USB ports staying on sometimes is something I learned to live with.

Oscarcat, You are correct. I tried the motions related to opening the door. And if you use your arm to help push the door open, you almost in invariably rotate your hand against the door lock.

I had never paid any attention to the fact that that was a door lock in fact it is so well blended and only extends an eighth of an inch or a little more when it is unlocked. I’m pretty sure that that is the problem that I experienced.
Thanks again for that observation!

Yep, easy to do. Especially if you have large hands.

And it's Locked

Thanks to a previous post. I too discovered that I was in fact inadvertently locking the door when opening it. Pilot error fortunately it was still on the runway..

My driver’s side door locks after I get out, but the other three doors stay unlocked.
How do I keep this from happening?

I have an opposite problem. When I go to unlock my driver’s door by grasping the door handle, occasionally it refuses to unlock unless I use the fob or to go around and touch the right front door handle. Just a minor thing but I never know when it will happen. Maybe I am not holding my mouth right. It is on a 2024 Lariat with turbo
