First brand new car, xl hybrid.

A few days ago I became the owner of a blue Maverick XL Hybrid. This is my first car, bought new with 20 miles on the odometer. I'm already in love.
I wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I come from Poland, I have been living in the USA for almost 10 years and in Central Florida - Ocala area for 2 years. I deal with painting and renovations, so I hope that a short bed will be enough. I've used minivans so far.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I use my Mav for light duty handyman type of work [Rental property maintenance]. While I don't carry ladders frequently, and when I do, I put up to an 8' in the bed, I like my tools to be secure.

What works for me is, I purchased a pad for the back seat intended for protecting the upholstery from dog feet etc. It forms a "U" shape by attaching over the front and rear headrests. I can put my tool boxes and tools on it without damaging the upholstery. The footwell is also available for tools etc. The downside is that the underseat storage is not. But my tools are safe and the bed space is freed up for material.

If you can afford it, look into spray-in bedliner. Rhino Lining and Line-X are the two most popular. Don't pay over what Ford charges - $495. Remind them that the bed is short 4'6".

Welcome to the club. Beautiful color one day I will get one that color. I am just a little east of you in Bunnell, FL. I also have an XL in Hot Pepper Red that I have had since January and have loved every minute of it so far. You will not be disappointed it is a great truck and the gas mileage is amazing!!!!
